A lovely story about growing up, friendship and relationships. Fin is best friends with college basketball star and keen athlete Jake LaShae. Fin wa..Show More »nts more, Jake seems happy to remain friends. Fin is sure that she will be able to win Jake over, until, one night at a party when Jake shatters all Fin's dreams of a happy ever after. Step in Brody who has had is eye on Fin for a long time, he eventually plucks up the courage to ask her on a date. Brody has been hurt before and doesn't trust easily, but, he goes all in with a relationship with Fin. Is Fin over Jake? Can Brody's trust issues be held in check? Theirre relationship is out to the test when Jake tries to worm his way back into Fin's life. A love story with some wonderful characters, a little angst and quite a bit of drama. The story ended on a bit of a cliffie (quite a big cliffie if I think about it, I was left shocked)! Lucky for me I can get stuck into book 2. That's just what I'm about to do now, can't wait.
Following Fin's life altering news in book 1 we follow her as she leaves Brody behind and flees to London to make a new life for herself. So many ang..Show More »sty moments when I wanted to slap her around the head and tell her to sort her life out. As much as I fell in love with Liam, my heart too belonged to Brody. I'm loving all the London Lovers characters, each bringing their own personality to the storyline. Brody turns up in London (at this point I thought all was right in the world), then wham! Fin finally opens up to him and he spits his dummy out and runs (okay flies) back to the States, leaving me yet again wanting to slap someone (this time namely Brody). A beautifully written love story that had me in tears in places. Even though I may not appear to be sympathetic to their feelings during this emotional rollercoaster, I really do feel for them both. So emotional, and so very beautiful, touching on some very real situations.
Loved the storyline. Two people with haunting pasts, one American, one British. Beautifully written, funny, angsty and emotional. Loved all the cha..Show More »racters, especially Leslie and Theo (a true sexy alpha male not afraid to portray his feelings and go for what he wants). Leslie has a troubled past and won't open up to anyone, she has trust issues and is hell bent on putting herself down, not willing to bare her soul. Theo knows that Leslie is the one for him as soon as he lays eyes in her in a London nightclub. Sassy American Leslie enjoys a moment with Theo on the dance floor and after embarrassing herself during a rather raunchy dance, she lives happily in the knowledge she will never see him again. Wrong! It would appear their lives are destined to cross, but Leslie is hell bent on not letting Theo into her life and definitely not into her heart. Luckily for us, Theo doesn't give up easily. Must say with the audio version I was a little disappointed in the narrator's voice when she portrayed the British accent, too much plum in mouth for my liking. I received a copy of this audiobook courtesy of Audiobook Blast at no cost in exchange for an honest review.
Loving this series so much, but I've got to say I struggled to be sympathetic to Reyna. I found her to be cruel, selfish and pretty much, not a nice p..Show More »erson. She was a dreadful best friend, girlfriend and daughter. I loved the story, and I loved the the characters (all except Reyna). Liam was adorable, maybe even perfect, I loved that all the characters tie in with each other from previous and future books. Second chance, friends to lovers, love story. A must for Amy Daws fans. I can't seem to get enough of this series.
