This is without doubt one of the best shifter books I have ever come across, and defiantly the best one I?ve ever found on audio. The story its self i..Show More »s brilliant, as is that of the main character. Who she is and where she came from. The difference between how Jane sees the world in human form and when she is in the form of Beast is just one of the things that makes this story so gripping. All the characters are complex and intriguing as is the world in which the live. A truly great book that I will be able to listen to, and enjoy, over and over again.
Jane needs all her " smarts " when Ricky goes missing and things in the supernatural world get turned upside down. Narration as always is very good t..Show More »he book on the whole was good but it had several slow moments, which the previous books did not have. Having said that it is still a good book and well worth reading.
Jane is stuck with 4 interlaced problems which, once again, lead to several very near death experiences and the loss of 2 dear friends. Once again F.H..Show More » and K.H have brought all the characters to life and I will have to force myself not to open the next book in the series once I've finished this review 😉
Jane Yellowrock returns in another action packed adventure. As always khristina Hvam does an excellent job as narrator givng an intense flavour to the..Show More » characters and the setting but I am not so sure about parts of the plot. I miss Molly, Leo gets off the hook way too easily for his treatment of Jane and there's just too much angst in the last couple of books about jane's inner conflict over everything from religion, to love to friendship. But the series continues to hold my attention and throws in new characters like Jane's new crew who have the potential to shake things up in the next book maybe
I have been eagerly awaiting this book and sometimes that leads to disappointment but not this time!! I love the way the characters are developing, El..Show More »i and Jane's relationship especially good with some laugh out loud dialogue and also the new relationships and little glimpses we get into Janes life. Good plot, brilliant imagination from Faith Hunter and I am now eagerly awaiting the next one?????? Please???
I loved this story, In fact I love all the Jane Yellowrock books, and Khristine Hvam did a fantastic jab as always. My only criticism is the price. It..Show More » was a little expensive for such a short story, and it hasn't been made available for kindle so you can only buy it as an audio book.
I've listened to all of the Jane Yellowrocks series and i did like this one, but got a little lost with what's happened with Rick and the title i don'..Show More »t think suited it maybe more Death Witch, but that's my opinion.
I am a complete fan of the Yellow Rock series and this book was my favourite. Please don't make me wait a year for the next book. This book was fast..Show More » paced, nail biting and set you up to truely want more. Thanks Faith.
Jane is firmly set in New Orleans and it is all about the Vamps this time round. Her friendship with the Youngers sits well in this book and we spend more time with my favourite character BRUISER.
A must for any fan of the books. If you haven't listen or read these books. Do. You will enjoy them if you are a fan of the genre.
The parts of the YellowRock books I like the best which are the relationships between Jane, Bruiser, Rickybo, Beast and Leo were put on the back burne..Show More »r. This book was full of history and characters I couldn't keep up with. It felt like a fill in whist we are waiting for the next real storyline of the European vamps. Nice to have Jane back but for me not my favourite book.
I love Jane Yellowrock books! These are on my auto buy and we run them in the car for journeys. Cat o' nine tales are novellas which start way back ..Show More »before Jane walked out of the forest and was taken in by the childrens home.
You get to know how Ricky-bo got his tats, what Bruiser really thought when he first met her and that dance. They bridge the gaps between the books that you didn't know existed.
My friends on Audible.com have been telling me to get this for ages, so I was really pleased when I at last found it in this weeks new releases. This ..Show More »is, as the title says a Jane Yellowrock/Walker Papers Crossover, set in an alternate universe closer to Jane's New Orleans but still startlingly different. Jane soon finds herself in a magical power struggle that could never happen in her own world. I can't say much without spoiling this short story but you do need to have read up to at least book three in the Jane Yellowrock series, to avoid major spoilers for that book. Unfortunately Audible UK doesn't have C.E. Murphy's series at the time of writing my review but it has been recommended to me by other Faith Hunter fans in the States and after reading this book I can understand why. I'd definitely listen to this again and will be putting in a content request for C.E. Murphy's series. The narrators are two of my favorites Khristine Hvam is very well known, having narrated all the Jane Yellowrock series and The Chronicles Of Elantra, which is another favorite of mine. Her acting is impeccable and she will always be in my top five. Gabra Zackerman did a great job with Mercedes Lackey's tales of the 500 kingdoms. While she doesn't quite have the presence of Hvam, she has a really pleasant way of telling a tale and is able to bring to life the soul of her characters. My only complaint is that not knowing the Walker Papers, it took me a little while to get into the story and because of this I would have liked it to be a bit longer. If I'd read the Walker Papers and didn't need to play catch up with the character, I expect I would have given it a 5 and the reviews on Audible.com are similarly positive.
I love the Jane Yellowrock series. Faith Hunter is an excellent writer and I am addicted, I have read all of the Jane Yellowrock books that have bee..Show More »n published. Faith Hunter has built a wide ranging world inhabited by strong well developed characters. This particular story deals with Angie-baby learning a moral lesson and was well worth the read.
