Darklands Online

It had been a number of years since Kurt had last played a video game. That all changed when his state wrestling bid was cut abruptly short. With nothing but time on his hands, Kurt relented to explore a VRMMO with his younger brother. Having been transported to a world ruled by magic and the strength of a blade, Kurt now must call upon skills he has not used in years. 

When Kurt followed his brother into the world of Darklands Online, he expected a game like any other. What he found was a world more realistic than he could have ever imagined. The deeper he delved into the fantastic world of eternal night, the more Kurt suspected that something was amiss. It was only when he found that he was being manipulated by a rogue artificial intelligence that Kurt realized how far afield his journey had taken him.

Kurt was becoming more comfortable entering the world of Darklands Online. He might not be that much closer to unraveling the mysteries it held, but with his brother and new friends, nothing could stand in their way. That all was about to change with the Challenge of the Ithkari in full swing. New challenges await Kurt, Greg, Bhae, and Carmen. Old enemies resurface while new ones make themselves known. It will take more than strength and guile for Kurt and his friends to survive in Darklands Online. 

After the Challenge of the Ithkari, everything had fallen apart for Kurt and his friends. As his game world and real life collided, he had all but walked away from the world of Darklands Online entirely. The departure was short-lived, however, as one last mystery presented itself. Embroiled in a new plot with a promise he cannot refuse, Kurt must make his way back to the city of Wester while enlisting the aid of those players he has met along the way.
