He has been practicing medicine in Palm Beach and Broward counties for the last thirty years, promoting the message that addiction is a treatable medical condition rather than a moral failing. His interest in psychopharmacology started during his undergraduate work at Rutgers College of Pharmacy. After obtaining his medical degree he did a four-year Psychiatry residency at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School before relocating to South Florida. Dr. Morales is Board Certified in Psychiatry and Addiction Psychiatry. He is a Charter Member of the American Board of Addiction Medicine as well as a Fellow of the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM). He is on the faculty at Florida Atlantic University, Schmidt College of Medicine, where he has been instrumental in the introduction of addiction into the medical school curriculum. He has been a consultant to various State agencies as well as to Major League Baseball and has been the medical director of several rehabilitation facilities. He is also a member of the contractor team for Next Level Recovery Associates Inc.
