  • Limitless Conversations with Leslie-Ann Smith | Women and Equality
    Apr 21 2021
Women in Leadership: Achieving an equal future.

In this episode, we invite Leslie-Ann Smith, to help decode equality and "escalate the conversation".

This past International Women's Month, the UN geared the month towards the awareness of equality and dubbed the theme "Women in leadership: achieving an equal future in a covid 19 world". But what does this all mean?

As it stands, women are still over-represented in low-income jobs and under-represented in leadership positions, the pandemic has further shifted this reality into regression. With the help of Leslie, we peel back the layers of the different factors contributing to this regression particularly in a local context.

  • Limitless Conversations with Melisha Reddy | A GBV Story 'It was just once' | Melisha Reddy
    Dec 3 2020

Limitless Conversations with Melisha Reddy | A GBV Story 'It was just once' — Gender-based violence is a pervasive issue in South Africa. Today on the show, we bring you a real story - not about a victim, but about a survivor of Gender-Based Violence (domestic abuse). Our Guest Melisha takes us through her brave journey of how she was able to turn her pain into power. In this chat, we cover Melisha's story and dabble into the nuanced female experiences that are often not spoken about - we all know about physical abuse, the scars are often there to see, but about 'emotional abuse'. We learn that abuse is a spectrum and this conversation could not be any more timely as it coincides with the global campaign - 'The 16 Days of Activism for No Violence against Women and Children Campaign', a United Nations campaign which takes place annually from 25 November (International Day of No Violence against Women) to 10 December. End Femicide. End violence against women and children. The Limitless Podcast is a fiercely independent vehicle that runs on the support of our incredible listeners - that's you! So, if you’d like to support the show, we would like that very much. Hit ‘subscribe’ on Apple Podcasts or ‘follow’ on Spotify, and leave a review if you’re feeling especially generous. Then sit back and bask in our eternal, abundant love. Your hosts are > Carla Fernandes @carlaxiii > Dominique Reeby @dominiqueiam > Lebo Ndaba @leboga Thanks so much for lending us your ears for this episode! Stay woke but don’t forget to laugh at the dumb stuff.
