  • Summary

  • MARTIN AND DEBBIE: KINGS CROSS STATION

For far too long, Martin has been resting on his laurels and not giving himself, or his relationship with Debbie the attention they deserve. So as a surprise for Debbie, and with help of his niece Emma, he has arranged for them to renew their vows in front of all their friends and family (or whoever can make it to St Pancras at very short notice on Christmas Eve). Ash and Fran are meant to be going, but after admitting to Ash how much Pilar means to her, Fran decides to jump on a bike to find Pilar and ask her not to go back to Spain. On a last-minute Christmas shopping trip, Angus helps Rob to realise what he really wants and Rob races to St Pancras to try and catch Ash. However, when Martin’s vow renewal is cut short by a bike accident and an angry security guard, Ash is nowhere to be seen.

But there’s Christmas magic in the air, so maybe there’s still a chance for Ash and Rob....

Heartwarming

I listened to this in one go and it was lovely and perfect for a rainy Monday morning. I would 100% listen to this or similar podcasts again. I have already recommend it to a few friends.

Amazing preferences

I love this musical. So beautifully written, relatable and relevant. I listened in one go. The stories are heart warming and funny without being sickly or hurtful at others expense. 5* for the music score by the London Symphony Orchestra and vocalist. I had to do a full on info search on this as I recognised so many of the voices. Audible, please commission more like this.

Brilliant

Had some reservations initially but I am both a fan of musicals and Rory Kinnear, so thought I’d give it a try. I loved it. Didn’t realise it was going to be several short separate stories connected to each other by the characters, but I really think the format worked. The performances are spot on, songs catchy and writing realistic and humorous.

Beautiful and nostalgic

The music was beautiful. I really enjoyed it. The story made me a bit nostalgic. I think Londoners can more or less relate to it. It also covered different kinds of characters that we can actually encounter in real life albeit more dramatic and imaginative in some cases in the musical. It's like an inside joke or story. The performance was great, too.

Cute and really well performed

I really enjoyed this. I’m normally not into love stories, at all, but this was really good. And I do like a good musical now and then. So I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a musical experience, even if you’re not into romance!
