The story is amazing!

Gripping, smart, fast paced story with an amazing cast of characters. Everyone is so distinct and well developed just through interaction without boring description. Unpredictable but logical twist. Fresh and unique take on the classic Sherlock Holmes story.
Amazing voice actors! Brilliant work through and through.
Highly recommend for everyone!

Flawed

There are lots of Americanisms and anachronisms here. 'Catch a show', a policeman giving a prisoner a cup of coffee not a mug of tea, use of 'math', an American steam locomotive whistle and others become tiresome. It's a shame because the story sounds good.

An original and alternative take on the greatest adversary.

Once I read the negative comments, they stood out more and I do agree with the inappropriate use of Americanism’s, drop in accents and to a lesser degree the sound . However, once I put those things to one side and focused on the story and the skill of actors, who gave a sterling performance in bringing the story to life, I became engaged and enjoyed it very much.

What you expect? No. Is that a good thing? Yes!

Having read all incarnations of Sherlock Holmes and I mean ALL, please do not listen to the poor reviews. I admit it took me a couple of episodes - but all in all is a refreshing take on the famous detective. It is one of the most original takes on Conan Doyle’s characters & setting. I’m fact I would argue one would only appreciate this if they were a true Holmes fan.

Excellent overall production

A review for the whole series. A very enjoyable little story. Taking the well known characters and giving them a twist. Nicely made, well paced and all together a good easy listen.

Rewriting Sherlock can be a risk

But a risk that paid off, mainly due to the actors who performed this really brilliant twist on the tale. Dominic Monaghan and Billy Boyd are and acting partnership made in heaven. They were brilliant other in lord of the rings but certainly raise their acting reputation in this play with diverse characteristics whilst injecting their own personality. What an absolute pleasure to listen to from start to finish. Great writing and great acting …. superb

Something Different But Good Fun

I know I've seen a few negative reviews on this but to be honest I really enjoyed this production.

if you're looking for a more traditional Holmes story, this isn't it. If you can't handle long prose and need to have all conversations boiled down to 5 second clips this isn't for you.

However, if you're interested in a twist on the traditional Holmes narrative, enjoy characters stepping through scientific deduction to unravel a mysterious death, then I highly recommend it.

If you like Star Trek Discovery and the Benedict Cumberbatch Holmes, this probably isn't your thing. If you like Star Trek Next Generation, or the Jeremy Brent Era of Sherlock Holmes then you'll probably get a few hours enjoyment with Professor Moriarty.

I personally loved it and I hope you do too.
