My name is Amy Gumm - and I'm the other girl from Kansas.
After a tornado swept through my trailer park, I ended up in Oz.
But it wasn't like the Oz I knew from books and movies. Dorothy had returned, and she was stealing magic from the land. The Wizard was back. Glinda could no longer be called the Good Witch. And the Wicked Witches who were left? They'd joined forces as the Revolutionary Order of the Wicked, and they wanted to recruit me.
My mission? Kill Dorothy.
And when a group of former - possibly still - Wicked Witches tells you to do something, it's kind of hard to say no. Except my job as assassin didn't work out as planned. Dorothy is still alive. The Order has vanished. And the home I couldn't wait to leave behind might be in danger.
Somehow, across a twisted and divided land, I have to find Nox and the rest of the Order, protect the true ruler of Oz, take Dorothy and her henchmen down - and try to figure out what I'm really doing here. But in a place where the line between good and evil shifts with a strong gust of wind, who am I supposed to trust?
And who is actually Wicked?

One of my favorite stories Ave I love her take on what happens after the original story ended!
"I tried very hard to finish this book..."
But even with listening on a higher speed just to get through it faster, I had to throw in the towel. One can only roll their eyes so many times before getting a headache.
Between gaping plot holes and the cyclical trap of Amy's drawn out, passionate declarations and promises (only to constantly shy away again and again when it comes to actually backing up any of her big game talk), I couldn't take it anymore. How many times is the author going to use this arbitrary plot device? It feels like a broken record.
The main character was given ample opportunity to grow, but just does the same things over and over again only to "magically" gain new abilities and story progression. Most of her dialogue is idiotic and the forced romance remains cringe worthy.
As for plot holes, so far almost everything in this book series has been explained away by coincidence (Hi2u Pixar's 19th Rule of Storytelling), if at all.
Critical reader beware. Luckily, Audible accepts returns.
"BOOK THREE NOW"
Yes, and I have, I've listened to both books a few times now. 1. The narrator is hilarious when speaking as some of the characters, particularly the queen of the monkeys. 2. I love all things Oz and all things "what happens next" I think any Oz lover will be compelled to listen over and over.
Queen Mab's court.
The labyrinth fountain, finding out who Pete really is.
There were times where I couldn't hold in the laughter, and times where I just wanted to slap some sense into the characters. Visceral reactions are a real thing for this book.
Book. Three. NOW.
The whole bildup of the story was great, but the way it ended ruined the book.
"is it really over??"
I listened to this book in 3 days. I cannot wait for the next! I would pay a lot of money to get my hands on it! but I cannot believe I have to wait for the next for another two years! way to long!!
"love the narrator!!"
This book really picked up the story. I love the magical world of OZ!!
The narrator is amazing and I love her Lulu voice, she sounds just like Arlene Sorkin's Harley Quinn from Batman the Animated series. I will be looking for more of her narrations.
"Not the Oz You're Used To"
Although Danielle Paige offers a novel idea for Oz, she doesn't execute her idea very well. The image of all these characters portrayed in a new light isn't something new, but the addition of characters makes it interesting. Interesting enough that I read the first and second, and have bought the third.
It dragged on. It had the potential for a really exciting plot, but the character's actions and personality made it rough to get through, even for a lover of all things Oz.
She does the best she can with what is given to her. She performs great.
Yes. I listened to it on my way to and from work, so it was entertaining.
"Love ♡this book!!"
Another amazing book in this series!! And I love love LOVE the way Devon Sorvari does all the voices! ☆☆☆☆☆
I love the story line and how descriptive the author is. Your really get a new view of OZ in this book. I cant stand the main character though. She just goes back and forth and is so indecisive to the point that you just want to scream at her.
No, I love fantasy books but to be honest I dont know if I will read the 3rd book because the main character annoys me so much
My favorite is when they got to the Rainbow falls, It seems like such a magical place.
I think the story is great, but the main character almost ruins it. She is one of the most frustrating characters that I have ever encountered in a book.
"Wait, theres more!?!?"
I thought this was the second and final book to the series... I love these books and got to the end and paused and was like, wait... There is going to be more? UGGG sooo frustrating!!! When you love a book and you need to wait for it to be finished... Not to mention wait another year.... There's reasons why you should wait to read this series... Mostly because once you do... You will want to finish them all in one sitting!
