A really easy listen and very enjoyable. Aimed at young adults (not too young as some of the issues might take some explaining)but no less thrilling for it. I'm off to download book two right now!

Being a massive Cassandra Clare fan who owns multiple copies of her books and re-reads them often, I thought that this would be WONDERFUL! I purchased this so that I could experience listening to it for a change, rather than reading the physical book. Unfortunately though, as much as I LOVE reading the book, I just couldn’t fully get into ‘listening’ to it.
The narrator, though not terrible by any means, just didn’t work for me. Her voice when reading out some of Clary’s lines sounded rather whiny and immature, which Clary most certainly is not - being a fiery and strong lead. I felt the narrators interpretation of her character was slightly off, which lead to me not really enjoying the listening experience, as her interpretation didn’t line up with mine.
However, of course the story was wonderful and I still very much love the ‘Shadowhunter Universe’, I just feel (personally) that for this book, reading the physical copy is much better for being able to bask in the beautiful details of the story and being able to engage with the characters in a more personal/ accurate way.

i just loved this book recommend to anyone who is a fan of manga or anime. similar to the bleach series, with magical properties of twilight- but better. believe me you will be hooked after reading this

absolutely loved this book and the series exactly what I wanted to listen too it is magical and descriptive and fits all the needs for someone wanting adventure and mystical happenings all in a book/audio book
