Summary

In einer Gaststätte nahe dem Dorf Wüstrup taucht eines Nachts ein blutüberströmter Mann auf und bricht tot zusammen. Kriminalkommissar Christoph Harms soll klären, ob es sich um Mord oder einen Unfall handelt. Nur einen Tag später wird ein Mann bei lebendigem Leib verbrannt. Christoph ahnt, dass es nicht bei zwei Toten bleiben wird. Tatsächlich erlangt der Ermittler bald Gewissheit, dass ein Serienmörder in Wüstrup seine blutige Fährte legt. Die Spur führt zu einer alten Villa außerhalb des Dorfes, wo der 85-jährige Industrielle Friedrich Kwast nach einem Unfall im Wachkoma liegt und von seiner Frau und einer Pflegerin umsorgt wird. Es scheint ausgeschlossen, dass einer der Bewohner des Anwesens hinter den Mordfällen steckt. Bis Christoph tiefer gräbt und auf ein altes Geheimnis stößt, das hinter den Mauern der Villa schlummert.
