Very entertaining

i went back to the beginning as soon as i finished,,and re listened to a few chapters as i went along...good use of a credit..,there;s a lot of interesting stories in here, really enjoyed it.

Bowie Anecdotes Galore

A fabulous book with numerous anecdotes - som you know and many you don't. Some terrific research and a lovely approach to a different type of book.

Loved this book as a lifelong Bowie fan . Lots of information I didn’t know , and a great insight into the real Bowie . Well researched and brought together .

Wonderful

Writing and narrating a famous person's life is challenging,trying to cover the polygonal entity that is David Bowie is tantamount to suicide,beyond the rock and roll concept.Add to that the necessity to bring the most colourful of human existences to life by running the rainbow of humankind like a verbal Messi speed dribbling,mesmerising,and poof!...pure genius.
I have spent 60 years as a musician,witnessed all the incredible achievements of Bowie in real time..but this gives you the personal insight,the context to the music and the polyvalent nature of the man who invented the term influencer...we miss you David.

Poor! Almost Drove Me To Leaving Audible!

I have been a colossal David Bowie fan all my life - so this title was quickly purchased on pre-order.
Having recently also purchased (and enjoyed) a plethora of other rock autobiographies and biographies (including: Gary Numan; Elton John; Kraftwerk; Debbie Harry; Andrew Ridgeley; Phil Collins; Mick Jagger; Dave Stewart; etc.) Bowie (my hero) was the one that I really looked forward to!
The book however, transpired to be just a never ending list of dubious anecdotes and unadulterated gossip.
Almost every person in the music, media, entertainment and even political circles got name-checked and predominantly placed into some grubby situation alongside David.
Despite having only a few few chapters (of ridiculous duration - up to two hours each - which certainly didn't help matters) the narrator jumped around so much (one moment he's giving an example from the Space Oddity era - the next our hero is dead) you never knew where you were!
To make it even worse the narrator attempted (and failed) many accents and impersonations.
I fear that David would 'turn in his grave' if he heard some of these doubtful or perhaps highly embroidered tales. Sadly, I guess that the main attempt is just to sensationalise everything, in an attempt to sell the book!
Had this book published months earlier, it would have inevitably been my very first purchase from Audible - thankfully it wasn't - as I would have probably immediately cancelled my premium subscription.
Luckily, all the other rock biographies & autobiographies purchased on Audible to date, have been of definite quality, and ranged from 'Very Good' to 'Absolutely Excellent' - tragically 'We Could Be' is far from being anything like those classifications.
For this review headline, I politely and generously used the word 'Poor' but I really thought it was utter 'C**p'.
Reviews are always subjective - and possibly others who have not followed David's career as closely as I have over the last fifty-plus years, may even like the endless pathetic gossip.
