Summary

Sanctuary is an illusion....

Retired SEAL John Eric Carver and his war dog, Shrek, are part of a small group of survivors in a world where a man-made virus has ravished the planet. Isolated at a Boy Scout camp in the mountains outside of San Diego, the small cadre of warriors have kept their isolated community safe. But supplies are running out, and a team is put together to venture into the abandoned cities.

As they leave their sanctuary, they find the virus continues to mutate. Carver and Shrek soon confront an intelligent and powerful new Alpha Variant - a beast that is unlike any other they’ve encountered. Not long into the trek, they find they are not the hunters, but the hunted.

Has the ex-SEAL war dog team met their match, or will they defeat this new evil and keep their community safe?

Great series

Thoroughly enjoyed this series by Walt Browning, excellent reading as ever by Bronson Pinchot. Having lost my 11 year old German Shepherd a few years ago, Shrek made this story for me. The relationship between Carver and Shrek held the series together, was powerfully written and made me cry.. twice! A real gem of a series. Thankyou for writing it.

Very enjoyable series of books

All four books in the series are great. The trusty canine sidekick is an added bonus. Loved the characters too. Apocalyptic escapism at its best!

Fantastic

I have listened to the whole series and was gripped from start to finish. My only regret is that they had to come to an end. Living with the survivors, following their emotional and physical journey was amazing. A very detailed and immersive set of books that I will never forget. I had a few tears in my eye at the end of the picnic. What can I say without spoiling the story.

Very very well done, and thank you.
