Summary

A man desperate to know his true identity struggles to solve the infamous kidnapping that nearly destroyed his family - and find his twin sister, who has been missing for more than 50 years.

When he was 10 years old, Paul Fronczak was snooping around for Christmas presents in a crawl space in his family’s Chicago home. There, he found hundreds of old newspaper clippings about the kidnapping of a one-day-old infant in a hospital in 1964. He also learned that, two years later, the boy was found and returned to his family - and that the boy was him.

Nearly 50 years later, Paul, acting on long-held suspicions, took a DNA test that proved he was not the kidnapped boy. In an instant, he found himself at the center of two half-century-old mysteries - who was he, and where was the real Paul?

True Identity is about three separate major investigations - the hunt for the real Paul Fronczak; the search for the author’s missing twin sister, Jill; and finally, the investigation into his true identity, his heart and soul and the demons inside him - inherited and created - that still need to be confronted.

AMAZING, Some things are so sad

Another brilliant but sad story of real life & the way people have to live sometimes. Life circumstances shape & mould our lives. I hope & pray that Paul Finds Jill. I find the hope story like dominoes. Not just affecting his & Dora's lives, but all of those around them. I wish them all the best.

Good

But don’t expect a conclusion. Because there’s none. Listened all the way through to find it was the exact same as the beginning

Incredible Story

I didn’t realise this was a second instalment, but it didn’t matter as you was soon caught up. Can’t believe this story is real. Great read though and certainly worth your time.

Wow! What a story!

The incredible story of Paul Fronczak, well, the 2 Paul Fronczaks. I first learnt of Paul’s story when we connected through our DNA match several years ago, we are only distantly related and I’m not sure the exact relationship, but something like 5th cousins. I’ve followed Paul’s story sporadically over the years with interest and when I saw this book on Audible just had to listen. Such an incredible story so well told. Utterly gripping from start to finish, and still more to come I’m sure. Very highly recommended listen.

Truth is stranger than fiction!

...an amazing journey of self-discovery and hard work with the bonus of finding what really matters in our too short stay on this planet...

Updated version of first book

This is the 2nd book I’ve listened to about this story, it is heartbreaking and they were dealt a cruel hand. I sometimes felt that the author was lacking insight into how ‘fortunate ’ he was to have become part of his adoptive family, I doubt he would have survived much longer with his birth family. How devastating for a new born baby to be snatched and end up living a less than positive life, influenced by badly behaved adults, when he should have had the love of his dear mother and father, is sad beyond words. My heart breaks for Dora and Chester and David also. I know it was over 50 years ago but there are some awful people out there. It must be frightening for both Paul and Kevin to have been confronted by the truth of their backgrounds, so sad. And then the author to find out that he had not been alone and how dysfunctional his early years had been, every new finding must have bore into his soul. I hope he finds what happened to his twin and he continues to embrace his daughter and also his mother and brother as they are not to blame for what has transpired. The same for Dora’s granddaughters, Dora deserves that after all she’s been through.
This was well read by the author.
