Well written

The story is not very original, and it's predictable. But, it's well written enough for 4 stars.
The narrator has a very pleasant voice, and does a good job, tweaking it just enough to hear the difference between the characters.

A lovely story on regret and the power to change

Matt Haig has played around with our feelings of regret and the great human trait of wishing 'if only' or 'What if' An old message from time immemorial that i am sure most of us are already aware of, but given a fresh new slant
This book is beautifully written and exquisitely narrated but the strength of the message will depend entirely on where you are in your life.
There is a lot of wisdom in his words. I understand how some readers thought This book may be dangerous in the hands of certain people feeling vulnerable or fragile....but
Personally I think if his message is taken onboard (about being the best version of yourself and connecting to what is really important to you) if applied in real life it does have power to make a difference, small or enormous!
And if none at all! it is still an absolutely lovely story book.

Wonderful actually

This is a beautiful book, I found it really heartwarming, albeit a little dark in places. It certainly got to me as twice I found myself welling up over breakfast reading this.

This book explores what is a really sensitive subject (depression and suicide) but it is really well and sympathetically told. I absolutely love Matt Haig’s writing, he excels at this. I also really enjoyed the narrator’s take on it, no dramatics required, it just needed to be read with feeling which she did perfectly.

I found the main character Nora really likeable, it is all told from her point of view and I wanted her to do well. The story itself is an original idea, one that perhaps many can relate to - are we not all trying to find a life that makes us happy whilst also balancing pleasing those around us?

I found this to be an interesting book just as a novel but also inspiring at times almost like a self help book.

Well worth a listen, just have some tissues to hand.

A modern mix of a Wonderful Life and The Secret

Had no idea what to expect when reading this, but wonderfully entertained all the way through. Somewhat predictable, but not to its detriment. If you’re looking for an uplifting, motivating and well performed piece of fiction then give this a go.

Lovley book, but a perfect narrator

I felt great after finishing this title, I also think the narrator's style suits the story really well.

Fantastic, poignant and inspiring

After reading the reviews I wasn't sure I'd like this book.
I think every depressed person needs to read this for some inspiration.
It reminds me that I need to be mindful and that just because a part of my day or a whole day has been disastrous, it doesn't mean tomorrow will be.
I suffer with my mental health but this wonderful book has reminded me that my life can start again at any point, it takes work but if you really want something you can achieve it with work.
