Summary

The best way to get back at my horrible ex? Fake date Rory Miller--my ex's rival, the top scorer in pro hockey, and the arrogant, flirtatious hockey player I tutored in high school.

Faking it is fun and addictive, though, and beneath the bad boy swagger, Rory’s sweet, funny, and protective.

He teaches me to skate and spends way too much money on me.

He sleeps in my bed and convinces me to break my just-one-time hookup rule.

He kisses me like it’s real.

And now I wonder if Rory was ever faking it to begin with.

The Fake Out is a pro hockey fake dating romance in duet audio (duet narration). It is the second book in the Vancouver Storm series but can be listened to as a standalone.

Tropes:

  • Fake dating
  • Ex’s rival
  • Pro hockey
  • Golden retriever hero
  • Boy obsessed
  • Forced proximity

Really enjoyed the story but…

An enjoyable story!! I really liked that the lines were told by the respective narrator and not a male voice trying to imitate a female voice and vice versa. But as other reviews mentioned, the female narrator just wasn’t the right fit..

Great hockey romance

Classic Hockey romance, maybe on the gushy side for me but good characters.

Female narrator wasn’t the right fit.

Enjoyable story

Enjoyed the storyline lots of spice.. it’s predictable but I like that so I don’t have to think..
Only downside I found the female narrator a bit over the top and hard to listen to at times…

fantastic spicy hockey romance in duet narration

Absolutely adore this story. Fake dating and hockey is a great combination. Rory Miller is one of the best golden retriever book boyfriends out there and Connor Crais does a fantastic job bringing him to life. Kit Swann isn't my favourite, but she is a great voice actor and does Hazel great justice in her portrayal.
