Characters in this nonfiction story about a cross-country motorcycle race are carefully voiced, while powerful descriptions evoke the western landscape with stunning clarity and intellectual charm. Listeners will want listen to The Big Race in the car, and may just pass by their driveway a couple of times, imagining themselves out on the open road with the rest of the gang.
Summary
When a mysterious military vet lures hundreds of bikers on a ludicrously dangerous transcontinental motorcycle ride, he draws in a Sioux shaman, a British financier, and a Hollywood auteur with helicopters and private jets.
