A little disappointing at the end of the series
I enjoyed the whole series as a whole, and am a bit sad it is the end after 4 audiobooks. I’m sorry not to find out what happened to Pantera in the end, wondering throughout the books whether he would ever make it back to Britain to ever see his daughter. That’s a bit of a letdown that there a few loose ends to the storyline. Of all 4 books I still enjoyed the 1st the most, and the 2nd was still good, after that it took some determination to stick with it to the end… but overall I enjoyed the human and realistic portrayal of all the characters, and the historical context, a lot of learning came with it! That made it really worthwhile.
I also enjoyed the narrator’s capacity to bring all the diverse characters to life, giving each their distinctive voice, tone and accents! Great job for an audiobook, this is what kept me going!
Now I’m turning to the Boudica series, which I only learned about through these books, and looking forward to them!

This book lost my interest
It was a real effort to finish this book. I am relieved it is the last in the series. I started with the Boudica series which I thoroughly enjoyed, before reading that this was a kind of follow on. I wish I hadn't bothered. This last book especially has failed to captivate me. I found it jumped from character to character, leaving me unsure which character I was listening to, and finding I didn't care. It may be of interest to some, bit not for me.
