Summary

When Aimee Tompkins loaded up her old catering van and pulled into Manhattan, she had her sights set on becoming one of the best (and most lucrative) caterers to ever serve crudités and creampuffs in the Big Apple. But after a year of leaving fliers all over town, she's not only running out of money, she's running low on hope. So when she lands a gig at a big architecture firm, Aimee's certain her luck is about to change.

Noel Fitzwilliam is pitching the most important project of his life - the type of project architects dream of. Everything has to go right, so when he finds the new caterer naked in his office bathroom right before the meeting, he's torn between being thrilled and being extremely irritated. He doesn't have time for romance, no matter how incredible she looks without her clothes on.

A mix-up means Aimee is accidentally given his cell number instead of his assistant's. So when she starts texting Noel about how much she hates him, he decides to have a little fun with her. The last thing he expects is for her to turn his world upside-down. But that's exactly what happens as the pair start sharing their deepest secrets and their greatest fears, and Noel discovers he can share so much more via text than he can in person. But what will happen when she finds out who he really is?

Brilliant and funny

I loved the even balance of romance and comedy. I’m not into over mushy romance books. This one had a nice balance of both that had me belly laughing

Shocking narration spoils this lovely book

Omg! The son of an English lord? Sounded like dick van dyke on speed. Shockingly bad. Just hire an English narrator ffs. Otherwise a lovely story.

Decent

Decent writing, some properly funny moments. The narrators made it difficult to listen though. She sounds slightly robotic and he has a confused British accent. I wondered if he was running late for something more than once because he rushed through his part all the time.

Brilliant story

Aimee and Noel's story is full of witty banter, laughter, tension, inner turmoils, deception, friendship and so much more. Can Noel get Aimee to forgive him?...
The narrators did a great job. The only issue I had was that I didn't like the English accent that Noel was given. Despite this, I was still able to listen to the whole book.

so funny

This was laugh out loud funny, it may have been the bad English accents, but I enjoyed the story too.

The comedy.

I loved the humour but I really think the narration could have been better. I don’t like when the male voice mimics the female and vice versa.

A FUNNY LISTEN

This was a fun romantic comedy that was lighthearted and i enjoyed listening to it. I like books by melanie summers, so thought i would try 'Whitney Dineen' co writing ans it was good. The male and female narrators did their job well. I got this free from the 'Pkus Catalogue' and i would recommend it!

The narration

The male narration was so bad. The accent was a terrible mixture of Dick van Dyke in Mary Poppins, Kelsey Grammer in Frasier and Hugh Grant in anything Hugh Grant has ever been in. As a Brit myself, I can honestly say that that accent was NOT British. It isn’t just the accent though… the pace at which he spoke was bizarre. It was like listening to a 6 year old reading their school book, forgetting what a full stop means and putting expression in all the wrong places.
I was so frustrated/confused/bemused by all of this that I’m not sure if the actual story was any good.

Omg, that terrible English accent!

Loved the story, it was laugh out loud funny at times, and I loved the relationships between the main characters, but I'm very sorry to say the English accent was appalling. Couldn't quite get past it but I did manage to listen to the end.
