Summary

another brilliant book by Kristin Cashore!
I loved this book and would highly recommend it! I wasn't expecting this adventure after the previous books in this series but it was a perfect progression in this world that Kristin Cashore has built for us. the characters are so well done. the emotion makes you really feel like you are living the book yourself as the main character.

Different to the other books, but still very good.
I hesitantly bought this book after reading all the others which I loved. Reviews were very mixed with lots of people saying the pace wasn’t as good and the story was only from one POV so I was nervous about this one. However, I found it very engaging, the story was interesting, the characters were well drawn out and I thought it rounded out the story from previous books. There wasn’t a big reveal in this book, but it’s not that kind of story. Still a really good read from Kristen cashore .

unfortunately disappointing
*spoilers*
having enjoyed all the prior books i was excited for seasparrow, i thought it had ended on an exciting note in winter keep, with perhaps an upcoming conflict with Estill. however this book did not further any greater plot point, or give us any new or exciting information, instead i found i had to force myself to keep going, as the first 5 hours of the book are spent on a boat with zero action despite the brief respite of her finding a blue fox and almost being thrown overboard. when i read fire i found the pacing to be fantastic, perhaps even too fast at times. the pacing in seasparrow is abhorrent, and the worst part is the story goes nowhere there is no satisfying conclusion, only a small wrap up of a slight mystery which was wayyyy to convenient and foolish (why would Joff intentionally try to smuggle his illegal fox with important knowledge on the same ship as the queen, while knowing they are on to his project and have stormed his secret lab, just wtf) the writing was still good, Kristin Cashore is a talented author, which is why I found it so unfortunate that this story has so little to say and was so hard to get through, and of course Emma Powell once again does an amazing job at narration
