loved these books not the sort of thing I normally read but got into these really easy and loved them the narrator's were great mr wolf was horrible and fun all in one brilliantly done
Listen to seasons one and two first to keep up with the story line. Great narration, great story, bring on season 4. This time I won't read the book first as it reduced the tension knowing what was coming next although with the narration some points took on extra greater meaning!
I would recommend the entire saga to anyone who enjoys this genre even if they are unfamiliar with audio books.
Excellent narration throughout backed by a solid story that knew where it was heading from the first book makes this a great listen.
A great third season. Hope there's a forth. The switching between the narrated characters really makes the story. Really well read which brings the whole story to life.
I really didn't think that I would like this series but I was so wrong. The character's are all so in-depth and the way they are brought together....so clever. Although my choice of tackling a book is through audio, I have had to download the next book to read as I can't wait for the next one!! For me that is uncharacteristically weird and shows how brilliant this series is.
It's an enjoyable listen. Lots going on, keeps you listening. I did struggle at certain points but it grabbed my interest again. I would recommend it, it's a good book, I don't think I'd have paid full price for it, but it certainly rates highly. I did find it difficult to follow at points because there is s lot going on and duplicate character's from each world, I did get back on track though
From it's revealing start, to its gripping end, the series continues to enthral the listener.
Excellent writing and narration. I really want more now!
great series, loads of detail and i was laughing so much, boritio wolfe is probably my favorite character ever, so inapropriate, so wrong, yet... so right.
I love this series!! Its so action packed and the story is complicated and has so many different pieces. The narrator is great for this series too. My only complaint is....WHY IS AUDIBLES TAKING SO LONG TO GET ALL THE BOOKS OUT!! The series is finished why must we the people who dont have time to read the books have to wait so long in between books. Im dying to know what happens and I cant read the books.
Any how the book is greatthis was shorter than the original books but just as great.
There's something brilliant about a story that maintains terrific momentum from start to finish. Like a perfectly prepared cocktail, when I finished this book I was terribly disappointed in myself drinking it too quickly; not taking the time to enjoy it's subtle brilliance in storytelling and eloquent profanity.
"the story is fascinating"
When I picked this up I had a different story in my head. As the authors explained the last few in the series, everything started tumbling back. How could I forget this fantastic story with such mesmerizing characters such as Bericio and Luca?! I loved the first two seasons on audible and was excited to get back into this one.
The beginning does start with a short recap, so if you're reading these back to back that may not help, however, I finished season two quite some time ago so the recap was perfect. It does not bog the story down but instead pulls the reader into the chaos and allows them to get ready for more action packed apocalyptic yumminess!
I have loved these characters, mainly the aforementioned, since meeting them. They are characters whose personalities are really going to stick with you as the book progresses. This is great since this has quite a few characters and it can get messy trying to figure them all out. Somehow they all have different voices, probably helped out by the fascinating and very talented cast of narrators. After listening to The Martian, I'm still a fan of R.C. Bray but all of them did a fantastic job. Luka's character is also helped to stand out by having a different narrator. Having a younger voice keeps the story line going.
The one critique, which was sort of weird, was that every once in a while, maybe once every two hours or so, there would be static on the audio. Almost like listening to an old record player. It just hiccups for a few seconds and moves on and maybe it was just a strange finish in the editing but that definitely pulled me out of listening to the story.
Other than that the story is fascinating. Seeing another side of Bericio and then having two of them, was probably my favorite of this. Ohhhh Bericio. This guy goes through hell. Luca goes through some stuff but nobody but Bericio has really gone through pain, not in the way he has anyway. It's tough to listen to since I really, really like his character. Have to credit the authors for writing a character that not only sticks out in this story that is completely ridden with characters, but making him a villain that I absolutely love.
There is a lot of back and forth with the time line. Fortunately, each chapter starts with saying who the narrator of the chapter will be and what time line they are in. This takes a bit to get used to. I had to puzzle all of the times together to be able to get the full story of what was happening with each person. Just about an hour and a half in they all come together and it is a linear time frame from there on out. For some reason this type of thing normally irritates me but I am so into this story and these characters that I did not care about the authors jumping back and forth. It gave me back ground information to build off of so I understand more about each character's motives. In this, that winds up being a very good thing.
I was curious at about a little more than an hour to go how this was going to end. I should not have been shocked when it ended on yet another cliff hanger! I will have to get season four immediately!
In short: Be ready for a ride. This was thrilling, scary, and will make you want to stay up late reading.

I'm waiting for the following 3 seasons and I will be waiting for some time still, sadly
"Where is Season 4??"
Love this series!
Characters and story plot told from multiple perspectives. Alternate worlds/parallel universes...great!
Please, I beg of you...release Season Four!!! I don't want the story to end!
"Great voice acting and suspense!"
This audio was as good as a movie with the voices breathing life into the characters. Great storyline with intriguing suspense. Can't wait for the next chapter!
"Liked seasons 1 & 2 but season 3, not so much,"
Liked: The dialog for Boricio and narration by Ray Chase.
Did not like: The static audio glitches in several places. The repeated "alternate" line spoken by Boricio at about 2:30. The new narrators: Jeffrey Kafer and Tara Sands. It was also very hard to follow bouncing back and forth between worlds and between the different versions of the same person.
The story line would be confusing except for the fact that the author does an unbelievable job keeping you in the story & explaining everything! It's definitely a great listen but you Must start from the beginning of series 1
"Awesome story... deserves movie"
Sean Platt and David Wright have become my new favorite authors. This is a great story and an excellent addition to the series.
"Awesome 3 part of this story!"
Very good thriller!
the actor who reads Borico Wolfe's part is the best - Boricio Wolfe is one of the best characters I've ever come across in a sci-fi horror story.
All of the narrators' performances were great, they all seem to capture the personality of the characters they were reading.
"This is some beer battered bullshit!"
Love this story - I could listen to more!
