When the mark of the great warhammer Aegis-fang is found branded on the back of a vicious outlaw, Drizzt can no longer merely hope that Wulfgar is safe. The dark elf and his companions set out to find the barbarian once and for all. As they discover pieces of the puzzle their friend's life has become, Drizzt grows only more determined to locate him. As his friends search for him, Wulfgar sails with Captain Deudermont in search of the stolen Aegis-fang, now in the hands of the vile pirate Sheila Kree. But the pirate isn't willing to sit around waiting to be caught. She has other plans. Drizzt, Cattie-brie, Regis, Bruenor, and Wulfgar - the Companions of the Hall - come together for the first time since The Silent Blade in a reunion filled with discovery and adventure.

"Loved it. Can't wait to keep going with the series"
If you're on the eleventh book in the story then you probably aren't even reading reviews, but this book was fantastic and fantastical. It lives up to everything we've come to expect from Salvatore.
"A good place to stop"
I originally read the first trilogy a long time ago (first, as in first published, not first chronologically). Bought this in audible primarily due to nostalgia. Got hooked by Salvatore's action sequences.
The action. Salvator does a great job bringing the completely fictional into life in a way that is easy to visualize and fun to listen to.
The end. No, really. The end on this one was not a cliffhanger or segway into another series.
No. It's best in the 60-120 minute installments I listen to.Would work for 30 minutes at a time too I suppose.
The stories and characters in this series of trilogies are fun for a while, but plots start wearing thin and the characters get more melodramatic and angsty as time progresses. That is expected for stuff that was basically young adult in the 90's. This one ends on a high note in a way that needs no sequels so I am taking the opportunity to watch them ride off into the sunset (hope that vague description is not a spoiler for anyone).
"I enjoyed listening to the story"
I like this series so much that I named my new guitar Drizzt. As well as my grandson. also finds the series captivating.
"Fun conclusion to this trilogy."
Satisfying conclusion to this section of the drizzt saga. Good to see the companions of mithril Hall ride together again..
"RA Salv please"
great reading, and if you love dnd it's fun, but the writing is pretty bad. show, don't tell, man.
"the best yet"
definitely one of Salvatore's best works and the Victor's voicing made it all the more enjoyable.
Here is a story masterfully put together of hero's and magic, love and glory, that can and does challenge your preconceptions of life, adventure and many races. Masterfully told by actors, who through there story weaving abilities, pull you into the story.
