The military-grade artificial intelligence known as Iona has only one week to live. I would have been happy with the short run time if it had been a good narrative. This just felt like some anegdotes and part of a unfinished bigger story. Very disappointed.
"Last 8 minutes is profound."
If you are a fan, truly a fan this story will bring on so many emotions. While the book is short the narrative involved is vast. The subject matter encompasses an issue as grave to mankind as the atomic bomb and guided missiles. That being Artificial Intelligence becoming self aware and machine consciousness.
On the fictional story side of things I found this novelette to be not only compelling but also a great listen. The narrator is a favorite. As a Halo junkie I couldn't wait to listen to it. Evidence put forth during the hearing.( which is the entirety of the book) for me proves that the UNSC and ONI needs to forgive Dr Catherine Halsey and stop using her as the scapegoat for all the ills of the war. Her work and theories saved mankind. The last 8 minutes of the story had me cheering however too many spoilers to go into details.
All said this is another great Halo listen With a mix of social commentary
"what a trip!"
Beautiful content describing the urging/drive of a pre-rampant AI to not be erased! It was a mix of legal drama and a introspective existentialism.Ill definitely get the rest of the collection...
As a fan of the Halo universe this war a niche insight into the mind of an A.I.
"Short on time but great quick story."
This story was well read and well written. It could seem dry to anyone not interested in the Smart A.I. of the halo universe but I injoyed it. The end was a surprise for me.
It's a interesting dialogue which touches on actual questions we need to start asking because ai are coming.
"short but sweet"
i nice short caveat to the Halo universe
[20 word requirement sucks. last 3 words]]
"Different, but Interesting"
It was actually exactly what I expected. I enjoyed it. Nice to hear the thoughts of another smart AI other than Cortana.
Small but but a truly delicious one. The Characters are real especially Iona and great direction into the universe and A.I. aspects makes you angry after you become fully aware what has happened to this universe once Halo 5 came out
"wow. just wow."
a must "read" for any true halo fan. definitely worth the 2 bucks without a doubt
I'm a little biased because I love all things halo. it was a good overall but the story lacked a little structure and was a little difficult to keep track of.
