"Please Audible get the unabridged version"
Please Audible, get this in the unabridged version. You miss so much in the abridged form.
I bought this not realizu=ing that it was an abridged copy.
I hate abridged books!
No, only the narrator.
I felt like I was listening to a Saturday morning cartoon. Only those sound more realistic.
Stop putting out abridged copies and find a narrator that can do the job correctly
i have always been a fan of terry brooks but this narrater is so horrible that this audio book actually gets on my nerves. it actually irritates me to listen to it. my suggestion would be to actually read the book and don't buy this audio book.
"Where's the Unabridged version!?!?"
Great story, wish I could have heard the whole thing. An unabridged version would be nice.
"What An Excellent Re-Entry By The Author!"
I LOVE the Shannara series. Good writing, great plots, sweeping story lines with DEPTH.
Terry had my attention long ago with his first novel , "The Sword of Shannara," and I've read ALL of his work. I now own all of his audiobooks, and cannot recommend them highly enough.
When this novel came about, the series had been thought finished, and Terry had stepped aside from the series, letting us get to that final novel wondering, "Will he ever step back into this fantastic world he's created?"
He did so here, and in a huge way, taking off from here to so many more novels that will captivate and fascinate you with their strength, plot lines, continuity and creativity.
There is a tremendous host of both new and old characters, creatures and "other" entities in this continuance of the series, and even if it IS abridged, trust me, they've kept the work solid, despite the abridgment.
If you have EVER enjoyed the Shannara series, jump back in!
It's well worth those Audible credits!
"great continuation of story of the drood Walker"
anyone likes the books of Terry Brooks will certainly be satisfied with this one. lean back, listen, and enjoy.
"Good but not as good as the others."
I really enjoy this series but I have to say, after thousands of years, poof the people of the 4 lands can now make air ships, I think that was a very poor choice of the author. and the narrator must make everything dramatic.
"good story bad reading for audible, only abridged?"
this reader sam fontana is not that good. seems he likes to use several of the same voice inflections for men and women. hard to keep characters seperated like that. other voices dont fit the characters either. ruined the story for me even though it's just abridged. but glad it was since the reader isnt right for this.
"Not a fan of the new narrator."
He sounds like a "dub" actor from an anime. Overly dramatic, odd pacing and emphasis
"sam fontana is horrible"
please do not subject us to this man again. disgusting portrayal, poor producer as well.
