Summary

"I'm not your savior."

I didn't want to be worshiped like some deity—an instant replacement for the asuras. For so long, these people looked up to the asuras as gods, but the asuras kept trying to kill them.

Arthur Leywin has finally returned to the continent of Dicathen, but his home is still firmly in the hands of the enemy. His display of unprecedented power brings hope to his allies and fear to his enemies. It also deeply embroils him in a conflict between the godlike asuras, with Agrona Vritra on one side and Kezess Indrath on the other.

With the crimes of his past life haunting him in the form of the Legacy, Arthur can no longer afford to hone only his strength. He must also empower those closest to him or risk losing them all.

Dual narration

Why add the additional narrator? it broke up the fluidity if the story every time she came on for her lines. Over many books I've gotten accustomed to how certain characters sound, and the way they interact with other characters.... but with this new narrator cannot for the life of her portray any sense of tension or grandure a lot of these characters NEED.

Narration

I love this series and was very excited for Vol. 10 but the double narration was not a good move imo.
Elizabeth is a great narrator but after 9 volumes and re-listening to the series multiple times with the voices from Travis its quite jarring to hear the same characters with completely different voices after so long (especially Arthur) and it can be hard to tell which character is talking. I would listen to the volumes whilst working or driving but now it feels like I have to focus and really listen to tell who's talking. I'm only early into the volume so I'm sure Ill get used to it but I think it would have been better to have two narrators from the beginning rather than after 9 volumes

Very good

At first I was very disappointed with having two different voice actors, but I got used to it after around 10 chapters. Other than that, it was great! (plz release the next book already)

Enjoyed overall, however...

I've just finished listening to the book and overall enjoyed it and can't wait for book 11 to come out. It was great spending more time with Arthur and the characters and uncovering the mysteries of the Asuras and Jin and what is being setup for the next book. However, as many others have pointed out and feel it needs to be said yet again. Why on earth after 9 books, did it seem like a good idea to add another narrator? It would be one thing if Elizabeth took over only the female characters; as I quite liked her Caera and Seras performance). But narrating characters; especially the males like Arthur that already had established their distinct voices over NINE BOOKS from Travis's performance completely interrupted the immersion of the story!

It would be like watching Mission impossible with Tom Cruise, then in the next scene Brie Larson comes out and it slowly dawns on you that she is supposed to be Ethan Hunt... It created inconsistency and in my opinion should be re-recorded. Out of 46 chapters Elizabeth voices only 13. It felt random on which ones she does. If you were going to go through the trouble of bringing in another narrator, then at the very least you could have allowed her talents to shine by allowing her to take over all the female characters, while having Travis as the main narrator for the males to keep it coherent and consistent.

I really hope you listen to feedback in prep for Book 11 and consider how best to utilise Elizabeth's talents; assuming you plan to use her on that as well. Because it seemed like a real blunder to me. Otherwise would have been a 5/5

Great insight into Arthur’s progression

I enjoyed the progression of Arthur’s character and journey to regain and improve the strength needed to become dicathons saviour. I was a little intrigued why the new narrator was needed (although her performance was great) it did throw me off to begin with as after so many books and travis’s incredible performance and range of voice you do get used to the characters voices

Odd choice

Story continues to be great. The narrators performances were great as well, Travis moreso than the newcomer. But Vritras horns why they chose to do the narration in turns by chapters, instead of Travis voicing the male characters and in turn the new narrator the female characters, I have no idea. It definetly flattened the experience as a whole, hopefully they mend this in the next entry.
