Summary

Random House presents the audiobook edition of Resilient written and read by Rick Hanson.

Experience lasting happiness, love and peace.

The author of the New York Times best-selling Hardwiring Happiness, Rick Hanson is known for his trademark blend of neuroscience, positive psychology and contemplative practices. In Resilient, he explains how to build the very foundations of well-being by harnessing the power of positive experiences to build an unshakeable core.

Dr. Hanson has distilled 40 years of clinical work and teaching into 12 highly effective tools. Working with these tools allows you to enter a positive cycle which creates a sense of well-being, which in turn establishes resilience, which feeds upon itself to strengthen you.

Developed from his incredibly popular online course called The Foundations of Well-Being, here is the groundwork you need to be able to meet life with a whole heart.

Refreshing and practical

Definitely warrants a second and third listening. Having said that, I found it easy to listen to with straight forward language, and without a rehashing of what might be considered obvious in the field of resilience. A refreshing book.

Stunning and insightful

As a person who could have been considered a resilient person already, I truly believe this book to be enriching and life changing. A must read for anyone who seeks to build tools in order to make everyday challenges less significant.

Check out the “Being Well” podcast!

Forrest and Rick have a beautiful rapport. This book distills some of their clearest and most heartfelt wisdom. Also their podcast offers so much value—I had to buy the book. It’s wonderfully soothing listening to Rick’s voice right before bed. Wholesome listening.

Excellent & informative

Dr Rick Hanson is so clever in the way he goes through each chapter and leaves us with a greater understanding about our feelings and our lives.
Highly recommended.

Ok but nothing life changing

This is a nice enough book and I might listen to it again. However I didn’t take away that much of practical use beyond ‘savouring’ positive experiences. The majority of the book is based on a mindfulness approach which isn’t exactly new.

Disappointed 😥

Expected more. Very boring and hard to concentrate on. Possibly better to read in book form

Not impressed

limited views on resilient. For me not that insightful. Resilient is a combination of the individual and supporting network.
