For all lovers of pets

This is a well-written, heart-felt book that guides you through the loss of your pet. I was one of those people that the author talks about that was more upset about the loss of her pet than I was at the loss of losing a relative. My grandmother was on her death bed, and we were expecting her death any day and then my mom died unexpectedly. I didn’t have time to mourn the loss of my mom because I was keeping vigil by my grandmother bedside. After my grandmother died, I was numb. Then 3 weeks later, my devoted pet died, and my world fell apart. To lose the constant companionship of my beloved furry friend was life shattering. I wish I would have had this book back then. I felt so much guilt for how much more I was grieving my pet than my dear relatives. I am sure the compounded loss played a role in how severe my grief was, but had I read a book like this back then, I would have been assured that my pet loss grief was normal. No pet lover wants to think about the loss of their pet, yet we all will have to face that day when it comes. Then is a superb book to have on hand. Get one for yourself and give one to a pet-loving friend.

A next-best companion for pet loss

If you have experienced grief, you know that it can be overwhelming, all you think about, and sometimes all you want to talk about. The loneliness that comes with grief isn’t only from what you’ve lost, but from how you can’t always talk about your grief with others in your life. They don’t understand. This author does.

Even just hearing stories about support groups, and validation of the struggles made me feel less alone. While this book will not make the grief vanish immediately because it doesn't work like that, it is a comfort to have some companionship alongside the grief from someone who gets it.

A Powerful Resource to Help You Cope With Loss

I wish had this audiobook 20 years earlier. It would have helped me tremendously as I struggled with losing our beloved dogs growing up.

Losing a pet is always going to be heartbreaking, but having this book makes it so much easier to handle the grief.

I really appreciate the perspective shifts - thinking about what your pet would want you to do, knowing you're not alone, and forgiving yourself for everything.

Listening to this audiobook really helped me pull me out of the darkness. I still miss them like crazy, but this book helped bring me back into a life of light, love, and happiness. Just like our furry family members would want!

Fantastic resource for heart healing!

Losing a pet you love dearly can be as hard as losing a family member - I know that sounds cliche, but it is absolutely true. The grief, sadness, and emptiness that lingers around the house is daunting.

Luckily this book provides some easy to apply techniques to help the grieving process and make things a bit more easy for healing after losing a furry friend. Remember all the good times and keep your chin up.

The narration quality is also great which keeps the book engaging and easy to listen to. Overall super happy to have listened through!

Learn to live again

Grief inevitably changes you. You cry, you curse, you reminisce and cry some more and still, you find that your beloved pet is not with you. I could have used this book three years ago when I lost Max, but even today, even though I am not in the throes of raw and fresh grief, I found this book refreshingly practical. Thank you for writing it.
