Does your home sometimes feel like just a place to eat, sleep, and change clothes on the way to the next activity? Do you long for "home" to mean more than a place where you stash your stuff? Wouldn't you love it to become a haven of warmth, rest, and joy...the one place where you and your family can't wait to be?
There is good news waiting for you in The Lifegiving Home. Every day of your family's life can be as special and important to you as it already is to God. Was so inspired to create a home where discipleship and love are present, and where guests feel a breath of life as they walk through my door. Great narrarator, too!
Would recommend this book to anyone looking to make their home a warm and inviting place. Full of encouragement and practical advice on filling your home with love, joy, and tradition for your family and all who visit.
"I will listen to this on an annual basis"
I absolutely loved this book.bit is a great reminder of what I want my home to be like for all who enter it, why I want it, and how to create it. I think I will spend a lifetime working on this, and glad I have this book to turn to for reminders. I love the breakdown by months, so I can listen to only one or two months at a time in the future and focus on what I choose.
Loved the combination of writing styles between mother and daughter. They compliment each other and gives credibility to the story- Sally's practical ideas and Sarah's experiences growing up in a lifegiving home, becoming a mature young woman in her own right.
"Not for me"
I was excited to try this book because the reviews looked great and it seemed to have a positive message that would bless my life.
I hated it. I didn't finish the book or even get half way. Perhaps I would have grown to adore it. I don't know, I just couldn't take how descriptive it was without getting too the point. I think the introduction to the book was over half an hour. The narrator is dramatic and normally that's good but it seemed to just antagonize me all the more.
This book was just not for me.
