Summary

We all have our "down" days occasionally, but clinical depression is quite a different ball game, with persistent and sometimes severe symptoms which can bring about a significant deterioration in quality of life, impairments in day-to-day functioning, and even risk to life. Up to 20 percent of people will suffer from depression at some point in their lifetime. This little book aims to demystify the disorder to some extent, identifying the many possible symptoms of depression, as well as summarising its known causes and recommended treatments.
