Summary
The International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea (COLREGS) are vital for maritime safety. You must be able to identify vessels during the day by their special shapes and at night time by their lights, and understand how they are likely to alter course or speed in a potential collision situation.
Melanie Bartlett's audiobook provides a clear and authoritative explanation of each regulation. It will help any seafarer understand their responsibilities, meaning that everybody at sea will be safer.

Very well written
This is a very well written and easily listened to way learn the IRPCS.
I was hugely sceptical of the idea that the rules of the road would be able to be translated into an audio book, but I was wrong.
It’s well written, easy to understand and to picture (in your minds eye) what the author is trying to tell you. A must for anyone doing anything RYA.
I often have this playing on the car stereo and it’s fascinating and relevant. AAA++

Excellent
This is _way_ more interesting and absorbing than the rather dry title would suggest.
The rules are listed, but they're all discussed - with the real-world implications and sometimes the court cases(!) quoted.
Thorough, and pragmatic. Will make you think, hopefully _before_ you encounter the scenarios described.
Absolutely a must before you next venture out; especially anywhere crowded.
