Summary
The landmark self-help bestseller that has inspired and enhanced the lives of more than 30 million people.
In this updated edition, with a new introduction and editorial commentary by Matt Furey, president of the Psycho-Cybernetics Foundation, the original 1960 text has been annotated and amplified to make Maxwell Maltz's message even more relevant for the contemporary listener.
Maltz was the first researcher and author to explain how the self-image (a term he popularized) has complete control over an individual's ability to achieve, or fail to achieve, any goal. He developed techniques for improving and managing self-image visualization, mental rehearsal and relaxation which have informed and inspired countless motivational gurus, sports psychologists, and self-help practitioners for more than sixty years.
Rooted in solid science, the classic teachings in Psycho-Cybernetics continue to provide a prescription for thinking and acting that lead to life-enhancing, quantifiable results.

Shockingly prescient
Predates and preempts cbt, western mindfulness, neural linguistic programming, Byron Katie, zig zigler, and more. extremely well written, clear and digestible. it's a aged amazingly well considering the frontier type topics that it covers. Highly recommended.

Fantastic book!
Really enjoyed this book. It’s well written and well narrated. The content is timeless and is as relevant now as it was 60 years ago when the book was first written.

Vanity bias ruins this book
The author is a plastic surgeon who sees the world through the lens of socially accepted beauty standards. He constantly refers to people who have lost confidence due to a facial or body difference. He refers to these as Ugly, deformed, demonic, disgusting and all sorts of negative wording. He claims his plastic surgery resolves these ‘ugly deformations’ . Well, if you have a facial medical condition I recommend you stay well clear of this book because it will make you feel like a socially unacceptable freak.
The books a classic with some good stuff in there, ruined by the authors vanity.
