Summary

Starring and executively produced by Lili Reinhart, Our Chemical Hearts has been adapted by Amazon Studios for release in 2020.

A bittersweet, funny, sad story of friendship, first love and heartache, all rolled into one spellbinding tale, from a stunning debut novelist. For fans of John Green, Rainbow Rowell and E. Lockhart.

Henry Page, a hopeless romantic and film buff, is smitten as soon as Grace Town walks into his classroom. But Grace - who looks in need of a good bath, is dressed in guy's clothing and walks with a cane - is unlike any leading lady he's ever obsessed over. And when Henry and Grace are both offered positions as editors of their high school newspaper, the mystery of Grace begins to captivate him. Why does she visit a graveyard every afternoon? What secret does she keep locked away in her bedroom?

Above all, why is Grace Town so deeply sad? Before he knows it, Henry is sure that he is the one to unlock her happiness. But Grace is capricious, changeable, infuriating and, above all, damaged. Henry will need to be the strongest he has ever been to survive this particular love story.

confusing

I found it hard to distinguish who was talking especially when they were making smart quips. I did not like Grace but understood her more as story went on.

“I love you as certain dark things are to be loved, in secret, between the shadow and the soul.”

🌟🌟🌟 🌟

Everything about this was tragically sad! This was such a beautiful love story but painful and realistic. I have given it 4 stars because I loved it and couldn’t stop listening but at the same time I felt betrayed by Grace’s secrets and the ending! Life doesn’t always have a happy ending!

🎧 This was also my first experience of audible as I have just signed up, I spent ages choosing the book listening to different samples to find a narrator I liked. This narrator was really good and I feel like he portrayed the emotions of the characters really well!
