Summary
An embittered and disillusioned policeman takes revenge on society in this riveting serial killer thriller.
Retired from the force, Detective Superintendent Jeffrey Brandt goes native. He stabs a woman but holds back from killing her. Frustrated that no one takes any notice, he ups his game. Next time, he'll kill.
Brandt fully knows how the police work. He'll use this knowledge to win a sick game; after all, he's chosen the rules.
The crime scenes are spotless, Brandt's covered his tracks. There is no forensic evidence. Yet each killing has his unmistakable print.
Faced with the challenge of discovering his identity is DCI Stella Johnson. Quick-witted and uncompromising, she rises to Brandt's macabre challenge. But if she finds the killer, what will she do given that he is always one step ahead?
Who will win this mortal battle of wits between hunter and hunted?

For a free book it was ok
I quite like the fact you knew who the murderer was from the beginning it was different. I think it’s part of a series so I’m going to see if the next ones are free too.

How not to write a book
But for the fact rating is required I really cannot even bring myself to rate this book truthfully I wouldn’t give it any stars. The story line was at best confusing, the characters were given little or no personality and the amount of inconsequential detail was overwhelming and did absolutely nothing to improve the book. I did not need to know that”she took a tea towel off the hook to wipe a dish, then put it in the wash basket to the left of her” totally unnecessary detail. As for the narrator........boring is an understatement his monotone voice was good only to help one sleep.
I hate writing bad reviews, I know how hard it is to write but this was the worst book I have read this year.

So dull it hurts.
If i'd paid for this book. I would have demanded my money back.. I'm incredibly dull piece of writing. Accompanied by a narrator who was equally dull
