Summary
Elodie Fray wants to be more like her perfect sister, Ada, the one her parents are actually proud of. When she decided to quit her job and pursue her dream of becoming an author, she thought it would be her time to shine, but a year on nothing has happened. And she's getting desperate.
When Elodie makes one small mistake on a drunken night with a friend, things quickly spiral and suddenly everyone believes she has a book deal. Unable to find a way back from her little lie, her perfect dream becomes a perfect nightmare - and desperate times call for desperate measures.
Meanwhile, everything is not as it seems in Ada Archer's perfect life. When her sister suddenly disappears, she questions everything - from her marriage, to the man who's been charged with Elodie's abduction. The papers say it's him, but the more she digs into her sister's life the less convinced she is. Ada will do anything to discover the truth, even if it kills her.
No one knows what happened to Elodie Fray, and now her only chance of survival is her sister.
Perfect for fans of Claire Douglas, B A Paris and Lisa Jewell.

Outstanding
Totally captivated by this story, a story of sibling rivalry and ultimately, sibling love. A story full of twist and challenges, the characters are very relatable and it's written from the heart.
I was absolutely gripped with heart racing chapters that kept me in suspense and wanting. I'm so looking forward to more from Dandy Smith. The narrators were perfectly chosen and they suit the book so well. 5 star all around.

Great story, excellent narration
Really enjoyed this! I loved how the story explored sibling relationships and how traumatic events can bring people together as well as pull them apart. The narration was superb, Georgia and Daphne did a first class job.

Excellent writer
Vivid characterisation. I found the characters and relationships very believable- even the bad ones. Lovely fresh writing. Personally felt the violent climax went on too long but a lot of people like the action in thrillers. I enjoyed the subtlety more.

Kept me listening
A very good listen, kept me engaged and hoping the ending wouldn’t be too cliched. It was a but I still enjoyed the characters and would recommend this book.

Best I’ve listened to in a long time
I loved Dandy’s use of similes in this- I found the storyline kept me completely engaged and I could relate in some way to both female protagonists. I thought it was a totally original idea and fresh. Really enjoyed it and even offered to load the dishwasher more often so I could listen to it as I faffed about in the kitchen. Can’t wait for the next one.

Best, on the edge of your seat, Thriller.
Dandy is an incredibly talented writer. The story has various twists and turns and some lovely themes within the book. Towards the middle to end of the book you cannot put it down, you end up racing wanting to know how the story will end and who's lives become at risk (trying not to do any spoilers here!).
It's compelling, gripping, dark and enlightening all in one. This will be an unforgettable read, you will not regret purchasing this book.
