Summary

I rejected my fated mate and didn’t regret it for a second. Until now.

Shipped off to Ravenscroft University, a graduate school for the supernatural elite, I have a lot to live up to. As the heir to America’s most powerful pack, my life, up to now, has been spent in a gilded cage. But not for the reason you might think.

I was locked away, not to be protected, but because I was born broken. A disappointment to them all. A wolf who couldn’t shift.

This is supposed to be my fresh start, but my past won’t leave me alone. Not when he’s here. The arrogant wolf shifter who ruined my life after I turned him down seven years ago. Now, I’m a pariah, followed by the rumors my rejected mate has spread, hated by my classmates, isolated again.

From everyone but them.

A vampire prince.

A forbidden priest.

A powerful demigod.

A bully wolf.

I’m playing a dangerous game, and the rules say I can’t be with them. Then again, rules are made to be broken.

And when every moment spent with them brings me closer to finding my wolf, how can I stay away?

Warning: This book is not for the faint of heart. It contains an obsessive stalker; a foulmouthed, inked, and pierced werewolf; a naughty professor with a fondness for watching; a god of mischief; and plenty of heat. If you don’t like your books spicy, your men broody, built, and more bad than good, then this is not the series for you. But if you do...press play, and welcome to the Mate Games.

This needs to be a movie/series 🔥❤️

I’m enjoying this book so far, it’s kept me wanting more. The four male characters are all likeable. Sunday is cruel to Kingston, she goes on like she’s in the right and treats him with a lack of respect. It’s no wonder he behaves the way he does. Looking forward to reading book 2

The narrators are all fabulous

Stella Hunter steals the show

K. Loraine and Meg Anne have crafted an amazing story of intrigue, mystery, and sexiness that will keep you inthralled from the first to the last page. Not to mention anxiously counting down the days to the next book, Reflection.

Honesty time. I wasn’t going to read this book until all four books in the series were released. However, I caved, and I am so glad that I did.

Not only is this a fantastic storyline with characters you will instantly love, (and maybe hate) but they are performed by some of the best voice actors in the business. Jason Clarke, J.F. Harding, James Joseph, Aaron Shedlock, and Stella Hunter each bring something unique to the character they voice.

JC brings an Irish brogue that will have the fangirls swooning as vampire priest, Caleb. J.F. Harding is alpha AF as Shifter, Kingston. James Joseph is fast becoming a go-to British voice and for good reason, he voices vampire, Noah. Aaron Shedlock bring a whole new appreciation as Norse God, Alek.

But stealing the show is Stella Hunter as Sunday, a shifter who can’t shift. She is phenomenal in this book. There are so many female voices, for people, creatures, and accents, at times, I wasn’t even sure if it was her. I kept thinking they had left off another female voice actor because each voice was so distinct. I was blown away.

I loved how this story had me captivated from the beginning. I needed to know why these men were so drawn to Sunday and how she was ever going to choose. (Don’t do it, girl! It’s a trap!) the interactions of the characters had me laughing, groaning, and swooning.

I liked that although this is a university, the characters are a little older than I expected. Not that I’m opposed to standard university age, but it just added to the uniqueness of the story.

If spicy is your jam, this book has that a plenty, but it is so much more than that. It is intriguing and suspenseful and yes, sexy. If you’re anything like me, you will be hard-pressed to pick a side. Each has qualities that draw you to them. I vote all of them! It is a RH after all.

I cannot wait for book two.

If you don’t think PNR or RH is your thing, I urge you to give this book a try. I think you’ll be surprised by how much you enjoy it.

A character driven story

As it is very much a character driven story–as should be every reverse harem–I think the best way to get a feel of this book is through the characters.

The main character at the center of the story is Sunday. A black sheep inside her own family and species because she’s a werewolf who can’t shift. That forced her to rely only on herself and she’s quite independent and rebellious. Now she’s sent to a school for supernatural beings where she’ll face her destiny. Visions, gut feelings, prophecies, everything points to Sunday having a bigger role in the world that she ever thought. But she’s also young, a virgin, and victim to her hormones and desires. Toward four different men.

The designated love interest in this first book is a vampire prince, heir to a powerful family, Noah Blackthorne. From a different species, and yet drawn to Sunday. He’s presented as basically the perfect boyfriend–loyal, protective, attentive, and, of course, sexy. Despite some other woman drama, and some failures on his part, he’s the main love interest and deserves the special gift Sunday offers him. But he’s also far from vanilla, and their intimate scenes have some kink.

His direct rival is Sunday’s wolf mate, Kingston Farrell. When they were younger, Sunday rejected him, and that hurt him. As a teenage boy, he didn’t deal well with the pain and started bullying her, starting rumors, ganging up on her. Let’s just say that he and Sunday don’t have the best relationship, though he claims he loves her–his actions don’t alway convey his feelings. I admit I had a soft spot for him. He’s basically a broken hearted boy who doesn’t know what to do with the love that was thrown in his face. He’s a petulant child. Did I mention tatoos and piercings? Growl.

The third love interest is a demigod, Alek Nordson. He’s somewhat aloof, though he says he’s attracted to Sunday. He clearly has some interest in her, but we don’t learn much about him, so his motivations were unknown. Sunday is interested too, and they share some intimate moments before Noah claims her as his. I don’t know what to think of him.

And lurking around, is Caleb Gallagher, the vampire priest, one of the adults in the school. Split between his dirty desires and his moral duties, he’s a voice of reason as much as an enabler. He’s the kinkiest character in the book, and despite the age gap, Sunday is attracted to the sinful priest. He also knows things, and his involvement with Sunday isn’t completely selfish. I can’t wait to read more about him.

There’s a bunch of side characters that drive the story too. Sunday’s friend and roommate Moira the witch, who has some secrets of her own. Calista, Sunday’s vampire rival. The powerful school’s mistress who knows everything. The succubus owner of the local sex club where everyone goes. Though not partaking–much–in the romance plot, they have a bigger purpose. Because there’s some bigger plot here. Something terrible is coming and Sunday’s love life is the key.

The narration was absolute perfection! The cast was incredible, from the growly alpha to the nonchalant guy, with a lot of great accents and delicious voices. And, of course, the strong woman to tame them all. The characters seemed taylor-made for their narrator. I can’t wait for the next book!

Sunday and Noah!

Sunday knows that she has disappointed her family with her inability to shift and his hoping that attending Ravenscroft will allow her to find her inner wolf. She knows that means facing Kingston, her biggest nemesis, but she never expected that she would be drawn to three other men as well.

Kingston is still dealing with the aftereffects of being publicly rejected by Sunday and although he hasn’t handled it well that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have feelings for her. Caleb is the vampire priest who is trying to deny his less than pure thoughts about Sunday. Alek is a demigod who we didn’t get to know enough about, and he leaves us wanting more. Noah is a vampire prince who will do whatever is necessary to prove to Sunday that they are mates.

With the different narrators for the different characters it gives each of them their own personality and gives you immediate insight to who is speaking. This is the first of the series and I am looking forward to more of these characters and their story.

I loved it!

This is the first book in the mate game series, a Paranormal Romance. This is a great introduction to this new series. The characters are amazing and well developed. Sunday Fallon is such a feisty, strong and determined character. Her men are handsomely alpha, sexy, possessive, ruthless, and powerful: Noah (Thorne) Blackthorne (a vampire prince), Alek Nordson (a sweet demigod), Father Caleb Gallagher (a tormented priest, and OMG!! He is hot!), Kingston Farrell (an arrogant wolf shifter). The chemistry is off the charts. The world building is complex and captivating. The storyline is filled with steamy scenes, action, and twists and turns. No dull moments in this installment. Looking forward to listening to Rejection, the next book in the series. The full cast of narrators is impressive! They brilliantly bring this story to life. Jason Clarke, J.F. Harding, Stella Hunter, James Joseph, Aaron Shedlock, and Shane East did an outstanding job with the narration. The acting is entertaining, the voices are very pleasant to listen to, and the audio quality is flawless. This is an amazing team authors/narrators. This is a fantastic start to this new series. I HIGHLY recommend it. If you like RH PNR, or if you would like to listen to a fantastic story, wonderfully narrated, this audiobook is for you.
