In Volume II, Deepak continues with a selection of hymns and prayers from an ancient Indian scripture, the Rig Veda. Filled with praise to the gods, the elements, and the bounty of the earth, the recording takes listeners on an unforgettable journey into the true nature of the universe. The more one listens to these sacred verses, the more one gains from the healing power contained within the sound of the verse themselves.

deepak chopra :it has been said that pure cognised knowledge can be lost in one generation be interesting to see if deepak has some way of averting this or is it already lost with him
"More like 3.75"
The quality of the audio isn't great on the download. The sitar music overshadows the readings somewhat. It's a certian style of reading and think there is alot of missing parts from the original. However, it is very beautiful and very insightful into the some of the meaning
"Give it a chance..."
On first listen, I wasn't sure what to make of this because it is definitely different.
After a while I started to really get into the narration of the Gita and the music behind it. I've lost count of how many times I've went back and re-listened to this because of the beauty of the blend of words and music.
My only complaint is that it is too short, I wish that he would have done all 18 chapters.
"Excellent for the Psyche & soul"
Deepak Chopra has a soothing voice with a heavy accent, but when I just stopped trying to remember the passages and just listened this measure of healing versus and sound did what Chopra said it would do; bring me a calming less fearful and fulfilling empowerment to be who I am because there is true peace in realizing this...
Just listen don't think understanding is within you....
I have heard more traditional ones and it is usually believed that narrator should not derive his own meanings and explanations from the sacred texts. But deepak chopra really proved them wrong. This is a very good summary.
I have an anxiety disorder and for some reason this audio always calms my mind. I don't know if it's Deepak's voice or the actual words. Perhaps it's just he concentration on the story. It's very metaphorical and interesting. I highly recommend this audiobook. I have one other title by Dr. Chopra which is pretty good but I like this one the most.
"In English!! Dah - where are the sacred verses"
I didnt buy this one to hear Deepak Chopra transalate the Bhagavad Geeta in English to me...I wanted to hear the Sanskrit verses which are so intense and soothing to hear! Plus there are only 13 chapters in this audio book - The Bhagavad Geeta has 18 chapters!!
"Great, as usual!"
Deepak has always had my admiration. He understands Western minds! Also his voice is hypnotic. I was waiting for this title!
"Deepak Chopra at his best"
Spiritual Information of the Bhagavad Gita from a very different perspective. A must Listen for everyone.
Dr Chopra does an excellent job of reading the Gita, the Indian Music was perfect and added grace this wonderful reading.
"My most cherished audiobook"
Probably one of my most cherished purchases that I have ever made. In times of sadness/pain/happiness/absence Deepak Chopra's words/tone will bring you inner peace.
The songs and background make for an experience like no other. Explanations and clarifications of each chapter allow for a better understanding and leave room for your own guided interpretations.
I've come back to this audiobook on countless occasions and each reading brings something new.
But then again I might be all wrong and you might hate the audiobook, but you won't know until you try.
