Summary

One of the key sources for the modern witchcraft revival, this influential work contains the rituals for the sabbat or witch-meeting, the charm of stones consecrated to the goddess Diana, and spells to find lost items or win love. While traveling in Italy in 1866, Charles Leland heard of a manuscript containing the ancient secrets of Italian witchcraft. There, he encountered a witch named Maddalena, who introduced him to Aradia, the gospel of the witches.
