Summary

My Name'5 Doddie is a humbling, courageous and very funny celebration of a remarkable man. The extraordinary, life-affirming autobiography of Doddie Weir is an absolute must-listen – rugby fan or not.

Rugby legend and MND campaigner Doddie Weir has always lived life to the full. On the pitch, Doddie's irresistible talent took him to the heart of every team he graced and brought him 61 caps for Scotland. He won fans all over the world with his sportsmanship, humour and boundless energy. Then, in June 2017, Doddie made the announcement that he had been diagnosed with MND. With no cure and almost no treatment of any sort available, Doddie set out to do what he could to change that, tackling the issue head on with his trademark positivity and good humour. Since then, the My Name'5 Doddie Foundation has raised and pledged millions towards research into this dreadful condition and his tireless campaigning has transcended the world of sport.

Inspirational

An incredibly inspirational book . Doddie is a man that anyone would want to have a beer with . The way that he has faced MND is amazing. If Doddie reads this, we are all sending you our love and support.

Well narrated, but a story that I chuckled to, many times, what a full life, but also with some sadness, Doddie will be in my memory for a very long time

Funny, touching, honest and inspirational

A really fantastic book, beautifully read by Andrew Cotter. Honest, moving and raw at times, but laugh out loud funny at others.
It doesn’t matter if you follow rugby or not, this book is about so much more. Excellent.

Amazing!

I had the honour of meeting Doddie when he played for the Falcons and he was a great character, which shines through in this book. What a true inspiration he is. My wife sadly lost her friend to this awful illness and anything that can be done to find a treaty or even better a cure is worth supporting. Andrew Cotter’s narration is one of the best I’ve heard on any audio book

Brilliant in all senses of the word!

This was one of the very few autobiographies that I’ve read that was BS-free and told it the way it was (is). My “My Name’5 Doddie” hat is off to all involved.

This was a 7 hour after-dinner performance that I’ll happily sit through again.
Andrew Cotter was very good and fundamentally the right person to vocalise the Doddie Weir story.
