Summary
L'horizon scintillait.

My first French audible book
Having not spoken French for about 30 years, I struck on the idea of reintroducing myself to the language, and modernising my vocab, by listening to French audio books. I chose this one because of its good reviews, and because it was modern. It was a great choice. The narrator was excellent - really clear diction, and an accent that was easy to understand. The story isn't too complicated, and neither is the vocabulary, which made the book ideal for a starter. I really like the character of Marc, and would have enjoyed another book just about him.
The story was fairly predictable (which again was probably good!), but that's not to say that there wasn't any suspense or excitement. I did think the whole premise was fairly shaky however, as our 'hero' really shouldn't have done a runner without giving the love of his life time to explain her shocking revelation... also, once we got to Brooklyn, some of the forensic stuff seemed fairly shaky... but anyway, I was just thrilled to be understanding it! The ending too was a little weak. So as crime fiction, I wouldn't really rate it if you are a seasoned listener, but as a nice, engaging story, I thought it was pretty good. On finishing, I immediately bought another Guillaume Musso audible book with the same narrator.
