Classic stories well read
What did you like most about Just William?
The way the world has changed since the books were written but is still recognisable. William is probably a psychopath by today's standards
What was one of the most memorable moments of Just William?
They are still sometimes laugh-out-loud funny.
Have you listened to any of Martin Jarvis’s other performances? How does this one compare?
Only the Just William stories, which he has made his own. Otherwise, I can;t stand him.

all right
I loved it apart from the fact that in chapter six William mentions that London isn't as good because only poor people must live there and I think that could be quite insulting to some people. otherwise it is a really nice story.😃

Just William
I absolutely love the William books they are funny and interesting and just brilliant. Me and my family (adults included) have had many happy hours listening to William. I only have one problem with the William books in general and that is there aren’t more of them. I think that the William books are some of the best books ever written (other people might not agree).

Not as good, but still William
I must echo what other reviewers have written: this set is not as good as other William audiobooks because it is a selection presented in William's 'voice'. Apart from losing some of Richmal Crompton's wry humour, the tone of the book is now closer to the Molesworth stories – a list of amusing but one-note schoolboy grievances. However, it's still entertaining and Martin Jarvis, as usual, is superb.

Not quite the real William
The William of these stories somehow doesn't quite match the William of the 3rd person stories. It's quite entertaining if you can try to separate it from the original William Brown, and it is never a trial to listen to the narration of Martin Jarvis.

Disappointing
So different from the usual books, I didn't even bother to finish it. I usually love Just William books, usually told from the view of an outside observer and having lots of sharp and humorous reflections on how others see William's behaviour. This book is written as by William himself, and lacks this outside input. Hard to believe it's actually by Richmal Crompton. William's narration veers from his usual small boy's persepective, to comments which could only have come from an adult. Martin Jarvis does his usual brilliant job, but the material is sadly lacking.
