Johann Wolfgang von Goethe wurde am 28.8.1749 in Frankfurt am Main geboren. Goethe prägte den Begriff "Weltliteratur", und er ist der erste und bis zum heutigen Tag herausragendste Deutsche, der zu ihren Vertretern gehört. Goethe, der in Leipzig und Straßburg Jura studiert hat, war nicht nur Dichter, sondern auch Philosoph, Politiker und Naturforscher. Sein Tod am 22.3.1832 in Weimar erschütterte ganz Europa.
Walter Schmidinger, geboren in Linz an der Donau, gehört zu den wichtigsten deutschsprachigen Theaterschauspielern. Seine Schauspielausbildung erhielt er am Max-Reinhard-Seminar in Wien und debütierte am Theater in der Josefstadt. Ab 1969 spielte er für viele Jahre in München, erst an den Kammerspielen, später am Bayerischen Staatsschauspiel. 1985 wechselte er an das Berliner Schiller-Theater, später ans Ensemble des Deutschen Theaters. Er ist ein überaus gefragter Leser und Rezitator.
