This book should be read by everyone, especially those who get caught up in the everyday struggles of modern living. Whether you agree or not with the information provided, it should at least open your eyes to a few aspects of your life that have been neglected or could be improved.
I have never had any formal education on nutrition but I feel most of this is common for anyone who has researched a paleo or keto diet.
I felt I could agree with Mark's arguments for nutrition easier than exercise as he's nullifying a whole load of research on chronic high performance loads gained at a gradual pace etc. I would agree certain types of chronic cardio is not great for the body however. I would have liked some references to published research where he has gathered his conclusions from.
For anyone overweight or just generally lacking health and nutrition knowledge this is a valuable listen.
As a dyslexic I find it difficult to follow words on a page, I find Audible really useful on my way to work, home and in the gym… Love it!
Every time I get determined to lose weight I follow the same routine with success. When talking about my methods with friends. My brother told me that what I was actually doing was akin to the Paleo diet.
The book is short, well informed and full of uncomplicated scientific breakdowns so people with no prior knowledge of science or nutrition can understand them.
If I had to criticise, I would argue that it is not long enough! Another slight criticism is where the author offers a relatively subjective argument against a critic who argues (wrongly) that the paleo diet is elitist and expensive... For instance one could afford to cook these types of food in a slow cooker in bulk with little effort, minimising the cost to the consumer.
This book has provided me with an explanation of how I am able to shed weight, gain muscle and feel better so exponentially, when I try to lose weight.

Mark is a leader in the primal movement who's been there seen it done it wrote the book, and now narrated the book. a true go to guy for results.

"Good intro, but does not go over science..."
Yes, I enjoyed listening to the Primal Blueprint, but expected it to go into the science more than it did. I've read Robb Wolf's Paleo Solution, which went into a lot of detail of the background and science of paleo and was expecting similar. This is a great intro and would recommend the Paleo Solution to get more into the nerdy aspect of the paleo lifestyle.

Yes and no. It was great information, but it is best to break it down, listen here and there and take in the info when you are in the mindset to learn. This is not an entertainment book, it is factual and has very good info.
Make your body a fat burning machine. Stop relying on carbs and sugar for energy! The teachings of this book were so much fun to implement in my life! I enjoyed playing with the idea of, a caveman couldn't eat this, or this is definitely something a caveman would have eaten. Take out the fact that they had no way of cooking meat, that is our advantage living in today's world. That being said, there were no ovens so bread, cake, baked goods are a no go. I lost 16 pounds, while still enjoying everything that I ate just by playing with the ideas in this book!! I ate less carbs, more veggies and meat, Generally there is a list of foods and things that are able to be eaten as a hunter gatherer. Nuts, fruits, veggies, meat, fish, etc. There are also the easy quick and tasty protein shake meal replacements too (again, modern age)! There is a health concern, however, with hormone injected meat and what not. Mark Sisson is definitely aware of these concerns and offers different sources to purchase your food from. Also with purchasing fruits and veggies to avoid chemicals and other bad things. There is a whole movement with the primal blue print and Mark's website is FULL of helpful information for anyone interested in pursuing this lifestyle! I am truly grateful for coming across this book and the information in it. A word of warning, this is definitely not for those who cannot live without breads, or baked things. I still enjoy them now and then, however, do not eat them as much as i did in the past. It has contributed to my success toward my target weight goal! 15 more pounds to go and I am at my target weight! Make your body a fat burning machine instead of a carb and sugar burning machine! You may just have as much fun with it as I did!
Mark presents a new perspective on eating fat, smarter exercise, and more play! No calorie restrictions, eating delicious foods that your body was built to eat, and minimal exercise for maximum results is a recipe for long term, sustained health.

I didn't like very much how the information is given, too much chemistry and assumptions from time to time ( like western people eating better than other countries, yeah right) BUT! The information makes sense to me. We have evolved certain way and that's the way our bodies like. I'm gonna follow these 10 rules :)
"Great for Paleo Beginners"
A little repetitive in areas, but overall Mark provides the fundamental understand and reasoning into the Paleo Lifestyle. It's simple, yet accurate and I'm not craving anything and I'm never hungry after meals!
A straightforward and entertaining look at Paleo living...a great place to start if you are looking for factual evidence to support making this lifestyle adjustment.
Info seemed concise and informative. Has some minor issues concerning dietary choices but most of the presentation is spot-on and a very enjoyable experience.
This would be better if it was unabridged.
