Easwaran gives clear, practical, step-by-step instructions in passage meditation: four talks recorded during an intensive course for the University of California Berkeley Extension.
In passage meditation, you focus attention on passages, or texts, drawn from all the world's sacred traditions. You choose the passages that appeal to you, so this universal method stays fresh and inspiring, prompting you to live out your highest ideals. Meditation is supported by the mantram and six other spiritual tools to help us stay calm, kind, and focused throughout the day.

Definitely yes! It gives realistic approach and becomes less difficult to implement.
Un-doubtfully great ....
Easwaran has a magnificient capability to get hold of its audience. His sense of humor intensifies the impact of his messages. It is one of the best talks I listened to about meditation for beginners...both informative and inspiring at the same time . Although he repeats himself in a couple of instances that again has a strengthening effect on his messages.
"Lives up to its name"
This book is exactly what it claims to be, a practical guide to meditation. Additionally, Easwaran's voice and delivery are so charming to me that I have bought other titles just to listen to him speak. It has been very useful to my practice.
Love the store telling, you really have to focus when Listening to the audio. Overall great lessons to be learned.
I didn't get as much as I expected with this lecture/book. I will most likely purchase another book on meditation instead.
