Run to the Roar!
When the image of a man-eating beast travels through the optic nerve and into the visual cortex, the brain sends the body a simple but urgent message: Run away! That's what normal people do, but not lion chasers. Rather than seeing a 500-pound problem, they see an opportunity for God to show up and show his power.
Chase the Lion is more than a catchphrase; it's a radically different approach to life. It's only when we stop fearing failure that we can fully seize opportunity by the mane. With grit and gusto, New York Times best-selling author Mark Batterson delivers a bold message to everyone with a big dream.
Quit playing it safe and start running toward the roar!
This is a wake-up call to stop living as if the purpose was to simply arrive safely at death. Our dreams should scare us. They should be so big that without God, they are impossible to achieve. Quit running away from what you're afraid of.
Chase the lion!
Change the world!
What is your 500-pound dream?
In this highly anticipated sequel to his best-selling In a Pit with a Lion on a Snowy Day, Mark Batterson invites lion chasers everywhere to chase dreams so impossible that victory demands we face our fears, defy the odds, and hold tight to God.
These are the kind of dreams that will make you a bigger person and the world a better place.
Based upon 2 Samuel 23, Chase the Lion tells the true story of an ancient warrior named Benaiah who chased a lion into a pit on a snowy day - and then killed it. For most people that situation wouldn't just be a problem...it would be the last problem they ever faced. For Benaiah it was an opportunity to step into his destiny. After defeating the lion, he landed his dream job as King David's bodyguard and eventually became commander in chief of Israel's army under King Solomon.
Written in a way that both challenges and encourages, this revolutionary book will help unleash the faith and courage you need to identify, chase, and catch the 500-pound dreams in your life.

"Creative. Inspiring. Challenging. Batterson's writings always leave us encouraged, and Chase the Lion is no exception. "Great audio book"
Enjoyed listening to this book, has several spiritual references, however it helped put everything into light that is referenced. It is very easy to get into as the narrator voice is easy to listen to.
I finished the audio book in only two sittings, and will most certainly be listening to it again as I know that I will get something new from the next listen.
This is the first time listening to this author and will most likely get one of his other books and compare the information given.
This book (along with the leadership group I am working through the book with) have been like a mirror showing me who I am, and a compass that is pointing me to where I am going. I have evaluated my life choices, and have set goals that are impossible without divine intervention. Something I'm not sure I would have had the courage to do at this point in my life without the encouragement of the leadership group and this book. I recommend Chase the Lion to everyone who knows that there is so much more to life than the status quo.
"Great book for anybody who believes they are destined to do something great in their lives!!!"
I loved the story and the author was great as a narrator! I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to do something great in their lives. It reminds us that God has a purpose for us in our lives. Everyone has a different journey but we just need to stay focused and move forward. You won't be sorry with this book.
"A True Call To Arms"

"What It Takes To Face Your Biggest Challenges"
I am not an overtly religious person and after starting this book I almost decided to put it down because of the preachy tone. However, Mark Batterson's message, that we all have the ability to do something truly courageous and exceptional, struck a chord and I continued on. By the end of "Chase the Lion" I felt a true need to stretch beyond my micro-managed world and challenge my biggest dream, starting a business that serves my local community.
"powerful but hammers to much same idea "
good book; but hammers the same idea oveover. narrative on same tone so gets boring
I like the fact that not only was the bible used but stories about very influential people were used.
I had the reaction to ask my entire team to purchase the book because it is a tool that will help us all advance in our business. We will also be able to become better people. I loved the way the bible was used ...not to convict but to inspire.
I am telling everyone I know to make this one of their favorites.
Mark Batterson is an amazingly, amazingly gifted writer. I have read and listened to 30 plus years of inspirational and devotionals. This will be in my top 2. God bless.
"WOW! Inspiration to get going on your dreams!"
