Summary
The revolutionary productivity system trusted by more than 25,000 professionals. Get more done and get your life back.
Many professionals work as many as 70 hours a week, leaving little time for rest, exercise, family, and friends. Work is invading their personal life. The common understanding of productivity has failed these professionals.
Most think productivity is just about getting more done at a faster speed. But it's not. Productivity is about getting the right things done.
New York Times best-selling author Michael Hyatt has created a total productivity system that's much more than endless box checking. Proven by more than 25,000 professionals, this system helps overwhelmed leaders achieve what matters most so they can succeed at both work and life.
In his latest audiobook, Free to Focus, you'll discover how to:
- Redefine your work so it works for you
- Filter your tasks and commitments
- Cut out the nonessentials
- Eliminate interruptions and distractions
- Set boundaries that protect your focus and drive results
- Leverage your time and energy for maximum productivity
- Build momentum for a lifetime of success
In Free to Focus, you'll learn the three-step system to achieve more while doing less.
Editor reviews
We hear a lot about the “attention economy,” with sundry social networks and other cultural phenomena constantly vying for a share of our time. Goal-setting and productivity expert Michael Hyatt is here to tell you we’re actually in the midst of a “distraction economy,” ruled by “the tyranny of the urgent.” In this fast-paced listen, he helps you develop techniques to determine what really matters and is worthy of your attention and effort. Perhaps the best part about Free to Focus: listening to it feels a lot like a “brain-pick” advice session over coffee with an empathetic, relatable, and very knowledgeable friend.

Exceptionally Inspiring
I found out about Michael Hyatt on instagram and in turn found this audiobook. I run a small architectural practice just outside of London, England and have 3 young children! For many years the work life balance has tipped in favour of work and for me the only way to drive forward in both work and personal life was to work harder and longer on the actual work. Michael's approach outlined in this audiobook has allowed me to take a step back and get some perspective. After a short break I have returned to work with renewed vigour, carefully allocating my time and energy to those tasks I feel are a part of my long term plan. The book reminds us all that when things get stressful, the best thing to do is stop and think, not carry on working with no plan or direction. Thoroughly enjoyable and highly recommended!

There is no better productivity system
Michael Hyatt boils down even further the principles from 'Your Best Year Ever', and it is not repeated information. He has mastered the art of having several interrelated products that all feed into each other, yet can stand alone or be read in succession without cancelling each other out. As one reviewer said: this is not 75% of promising you great stuff in the next chapter 5% content 20% telling you how great the 5% is at all! It is a great workable system that indeed does have the potential to change your life.Read by the author too.

Good book
This is a good book with a lot of good examples. However it might be more fitting for someone owning their own business or a manager. I could not go out and delegate work to a colleague or hire an assistant to help with tasks at work. Still, I did get some useful tips on how to build my week and workdays.

Is a workbook but the link provided doesn't exist?
I listened over and over to the link provided for the exercise and tried every alternative that came to my mind but freetofocus.com/tools, where the resources should be, doesn't seem to exist. The writer clearly states is useless to go ahead with the book without completing the exercises ...
Not sure how to get help too!
