Cover girl Cat St. James's picture-perfect life is anything but flawless. Luckily, she's a master of hiding the truth from the camera. Relying on that skill, she conceals her latest secret from her family while attending her brother's wedding. Her only trouble now is Hank Mitchell - the soft-spoken carpenter she'd once brushed aside. Seeing him at the reception underscores her private heartache and ignites unwelcome longing, which she promptly drowns in champagne.
Hank is no stranger to sacrifice, having set aside his own ambitions to take care of his family. One thing he won't forsake is his pride, which Cat already wounded once. But when the maddening beauty's reckless behavior forces him to rush to her rescue, he sets in motion a series of events that leads Cat to make a business proposal granting him his dream job.
When Cat and Hank mix business with pleasure, promises and secrets unravel, and each must decide if and what they'll surrender for love.

"Another Great Addition to the St. James Series!"
I fell in love with the characters on ther first St. James Book! Cat is one of my favorite characters. She is a gorgeous model and has gone through a lot since her mom died. Having a crazy ex-boyfriend to boot doesn't help, specially after what happened on the first book.
Hank is a great guy and so dedicated to his mom and sisters. Cat and him have so much quemistry! He is smart to thread with caution after Cat blew him off the previous year by not calling him back.
Cat gets some major news that will affect the rest of her life and instead of opening up for support, she clams up and tries to keep her distance from Hank. Telling him she doesn't want a relationship.
The narrator did a great job. Such a great listen that is hard to put down!
I'm looking forward to the next book. Jackson has been so troubled throughout this book! Hopefully he will find the girl of his dreams that will treat him right.
"Great continuation of story line"
It was a great read. I enjoyed that all the characters were involved and the story continued.
"Cat & Hank"
Aging model with good business sense finds out she is infertile and goes into business with carpenter to start custom furniture line. Add a violent ex, an alcoholic brother, a mother with Alzheimer's, and some unnecessary sex and you get fashionably moralistic drama.
"I enjoyed the story but loved the narration. it's"
it's a really heart warming love story. I loved the characters the humor the struggles insecurities but love wins out no matter how much human nature wants to derail an easy path
"Good thing I had whispersync"
Good for the first 60%, then audio stopped. I tried deleting & syncing audio book again, but no improvement. At least I was able to read the last third of the story.
"Read the series!"
You will fall in love with the characters in this series. Can't wait for the next ones. Truly enjoyable reading
"Definitely WORTH THE TROUBLE"
This was a great love story although I didn't realize it was the unabridged version. A little disappointing because it had TMI which is why I read Christian books. But the lessons that are there are good lessons for (younger) people, which I am definitely NOT. STILL ENJOYED IT IMMENSELY. THANKS TO AN AUTHOR WHO KNOWS HOW TO TELL A VERY GOOD STORY! Looking forward to delivery of the next in the series......Jackson's turn??? Love this family!
I l-o-v-e-d it!! I'm a real sucker love stories like this!! I couldn't drop my phone till I finished it!
"the heron in this story is ......."
Is it me, or what is wrong with this heron? I am half way thru and want to set the b#* aside. He does have a job and if he's half of what he says then why when she smiles does he jump. It's a little one sided, and I am having a hard time finishing it.
Read light easy to read, lots of fun ,great for relaxing afternoon lazy in the sun.
