"A True Highlander Romance with a twist"
This was a good time travel romance. It was what I would call a true romance with only one situation that had "relations". Saying that, the book was well written with an interesting plot with different twist and turns. This was well worth a credit.
"Good story, bad narrator"
I liked the story, but the narrator didn't do so well. Her voice was want more mature than the character, her inflections sounded like reading to a clean and I couldn't believe what she was saying.
"kept my interest "
it kept me interested and I'd read another story like or from the same author.
the story moved at a quick pace and I loved the humor found through out TV he telling. I can't wait to listen to the next book!
"OKAY STORY NEED MORE ROMANCE AND SEXUAL HEAT!!"
The storyline need more depth and development. Brianagh meets her birth parents but that's it. Her mother Kathryn explains to her about the O'Rourke Time travel Legacy and then her mother father and brothers leave with not further communications. This part of the story feel very short. Who wouldn't want to spend more then a few minutes with there Parents.
The Narration was good and expectable.
If you like time travel stories I am sure you will like The Winter Laird by Nancy Scanlon. I really enjoyed this light hearted fast pace no nonsense story. This is a "Very Clean Romance" story. Sex between husband and wife is implied but not described in any way. I would have liked a bit of sexual heat and interaction between Laird Nicolas MacWilliam's and Brianagh O'Rourke. After all he was her dream lover. The story follows all the same story patterns as most time travel. There was nothing in this one I haven't read in other similar genre stories. But it still was a good enough story to hold my interest!! I like all the characters well enough. I didn't like the Villain of the story Burke always getting the upper hand and winning over Nicolas and the MacWilliams Clan. I also would have like more interaction with Brianagh birth parents of the medieval times she was sent back too. There was just nothing there when she is sent back in the past and meets her mother Kathryn, her father Kierman and brother Brody and Reeves. Her mother did speak to her and explain why she was sent in the future with Reilly O'Malley has her protector. But then her family just ups and leaves.
"Years worth of wonderful...."
Ireland instead of Scotland and leine instead of kilt.... Still the perfect medieval romance a time travel legacy that makes it truly unique.
Excellent performance by Jane Jacobs.
No sex but true chemistry.
"Meh.....I I'm on the fence with this one."
the storyline was fairly weak. The narrator was entertaining. I just did not do to me what the other books do
"Good Time Travel IRISH Love Story"
Within the top 30 ( I have listened to quite a lot of these books). It is nice to have a time travel romance in IRELAND instead of Scotland. The market is swamped with Scotland. This was a great story and I will definately listen to it again.
Reily.....I love this tough man that raised Brianagh. I especially like it when Reily makes her change her clothes and Brianagh thinks he is a reenactment GEEK. I love the method Brianagh arrives in the past. Once she arrives in the past she wants to return to the future, Reily scoots away leaving the castle to make Brianagh stay. Of course, Nicholas is jealous of Reily and Reily does his best to irritate Nicholas.
I really kept expecting them to declare Brianagh a witch. I like the way this was avoided. Everyone in the Castle and township just loves her so much. Nicholas' father goes beyond being an an enemy. I just love the fate in store for him....he really got what he deserved.
When Brianagh returns to the future, she sees what happens in the past. She goes back and re-changes history. There is no long drawn out reason for the history changes, which is a relief.
