Hilarious story complemented by superb narration
Hilariously imaginative (and almost ridiculous) fiction intermingled with well-chosen historical facts. The story is about how an explosives expert managed to influence world affairs over his one hundred years of life without any intention to do so. Definitely un-publishable in some countries for sure lol
The performance of Peter Kenny is impressive. It's clear, vivid and expressive, and all accents are nicely done!

Fabulously daft
I have been hitting SFF hard recently and was looking to break it up with something a little more lighthearted. This book was recommended by a friend and I'm utterly greatful,
An unprobable tale spins out to be an extraordinary life of a Swedish man, who's core compass is to be nice, don't get angry and drink plenty of vodka! I enjoyed the alternating chapters between current 100 year old Alan and the chronological tale of his past. In particular the way the fabric of the story is intertwined with a lot of factual history is brilliant and hilarious.
Initially I wasn't sure of Peter Kenny's narration, but I think that was just because of a big change from a previous listen and less than an hour of adjustment, believe he did a marvelous job in delivering the tone of the story and provides a good variety in the characters.
Alan is one of the best charecters from any story and I look forward to reading more from Jonas Jonasson.

Very entertaining
I loved Alan! Very entertaining story, great narration and an easy, enjoyable listen. Although not sure why some of the Swedes would have a cockney accent...
