"In here," he said, pushing on the skin above my heart, "you're 10 below zero. And you're closer to death than I am." My name is Parker. My body is marked with scars from an attack I don't remember. I don't want to remember. I choose to live my life by observation, not through experience. While people are laughing and kissing and connecting, I'm in the corner. Watching them live. I'm indifferent to everything, everyone. The only emotion I feel with any kind of depth is annoyance, and I feel it often. A text message sent to the wrong number proves to be my undoing. His name is Everett, but I call him rude. He's pushy, he's arrogant, he crowds my personal space, and worst of all: he makes me feel. He chooses to wear all black, all the time, as if he's waiting to attend a funeral. Probably because he is. Everett is dying. And he's spending his final days living, truly living. In doing so, he's forcing me to feel, to heal. To come face to face with the demons I suppressed in my memory. He hurts me, he fulfills me, he completes me. And still, he's dying.
WARNING: This is not a story about two happy people who fall easily into love. This is a story about two broken people who find one another - and don't necessarily like each other. These characters are blunt, rude, and at times annoying. They are broken and sheltered and vulnerable.

"EVERETT & PARKER...LOVE TO HATE YOU!!!!!!!!"
ALL OF IT!!!!!!!! *Slow clapping and streaming tears!*
I think I am going to say Everett first, then Parker..oh the feels.....If you want to know why LISTEN TO THE BOOK!!! All of it I tell you!
She was so raw and gritty...you might not like her at first, but give her a good chance....she fits this story perfectly!!!!!!!!
Lots of them....but the end was wowsy wow...SWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON....I swear these romance books are ruining me....lol
I HAVE TO....I AM USING LYDIA'S WORD AGAIN....FLOVED IT! FLOVED IT SO HARD!
It all starts with a text! Parker is a very damaged soul...and so is Everett....Parker tries not to leave the house EVER....and Everett is a self proclaimed alcoholic....together its like fire and ice...he even says she is ten degrees below zero...referring to her cold dead heart...
OOOOOOH THE FEELS!!!!!!!!!!!!
These 2 were merciless to each other...the passion was extraordinary....Their chemistry is intense...this book is so good....it will touch your heart so much! I love that he gave her the nickname My Precious....and the reference to Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind..This book is really raw...if you are looking for a traditional romance...don't listen...if you like rip your heart out books...this one is for you!!!!
BRAVO BRAVO BRAVO....I RECOMMEND...GOING IN MY ATF FILE....ONE I WILL REMEMBER FOR A LONG TIME!!!
This book is so human. There isn't much action to hold your interest. It's the emotion, the feeling, that will hold you so completely captivated. How two very broken souls (for very different reasons) found and healed one another was just amazing to read about. You can tell that this story meant a lot to the author, she put a lot of herself into this story, it feels very personal. Such sad undertones mixed in with the light of hope.
The narrator does a spectacular job catching each nuance of the character's personalities. She was just the perfect choice for this book.
I've read the story once. Listening to it brought it to life in such a very real way. I fell in love with the story all over again.
"The saddest most depressing and awesome book you would ever read"
This is the first time I read a story from this author and let's just say; it will not be my last. That good!
However, the narrator didn't give justice to this story and I was disappointed with the performance.
I like that the author set the right expectations from the beginning. Although, I do think this is a love story despite the way the main characters interacted with each other.
Parker and Everett's story is one to be read more than once. They way the pain these two characters expressed throughout makes you think and look at your reality.
I would totally recommend this book for people who enjoy a not so typical romance. People that seek meaning between the lines and try to identify themselves with the stories they read.
The story was ok. Then narrator was ok. No surprises or intrigue, what you think will happen, happens.
"I never write reviews..."
I liked this book so much that I'm going to buy copies for my fellow book lovers in my family.
I was hooked from the beginning to the very end. If you want a book that makes you feel a variety of emotions, this is it.
Read it! ;)
"Emotional and Sweet"
Narrators voice is a bit bland but you can get used to it after some time.
"I really enjoyed this book"
Low and husky for her male voice. I really liked her for Parker. Her voice has just the right amount of detachment that I visualized for this character. While I would have preferred a male voice for the dual POV, I think she did really good for the male voice.
This book had a lot of emotional parts due to the context of the story but I couldn't pinpoint a particular one.
I really liked this book. I had this on my tbr list for a while and decided to do the kindle match and get the audio version to finally listen to it. I really liked the story even though I try to steer clear of the sad books. I was shocked by the ending but I think it was perfect for this book. I also loved the relationship between Parker and Everett. Even though they had sex very early on in the book, it took a while for them to form the emotional connection to each other which was even harder knowing what I did about Everett.
I love this book so much. It speaks to my soul and the broken parts of me. I didn't have an Everett to save me. But this book is so important to me in so many ways. And I think Whitney Barbetti is an asshole. The best, most thoughtful, Queen asshole.
I must say though, I was surprised to hear this version of TBZ. I don't know why, but I expected it to have the part of the original where Parker helps Mira and Six with Andra's escape at the ranch. I still loved it, of course! Just missed that part.
The narrator did such a fabulous job. It was my first audiobook, so I had a hard time adjusting at first, especially since it's a story I know so well and have read many times. But hearing it aloud for the first time, and with the way it was narrated, it gave a whole new meaning and perspective I didn't have before. I'm so impressed and loved every. Single. Minute.
"Ten Below Zero Stars"
Seriously this book, if you have it on your TBR list…move it up because wow. I am blown away at how fantastic it was. All the feels the twists, just the raw emotions. Just a must read book if I ever read one before.
Parker phew so much to say about her, without giving too much away but I will try. She is raw, she is hiding with in herself and she doesn't even know it. She has so much but she exits in life she doesn't live. She thinks of herself as indifferent but that’s so far from it.
Meeting Everett was one of the best things to have happen to her, I say one of the best because the best thing was her having the courage to open up even if she didn't realize she was doing it.
Everett is going to break your hearts, in good and bad ways. This book is going to stick with me for so long because the connection these two have it’s unreal. It’s as if they heal each other. Meant to be and all that jazz.
The audiobook is Fan-Freaking-Tastic, I wasn't sure if I was going to like the narration because it’s so raw so unemotional for most of it, but it’s perfect for the book. Natasha Soudek was Parker in my eyes. I am blown away again because it was just so damn good.
*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*
so boring I couldn't finish. 2 hours in and I still don't see anything redeeming with either MC. Narrator is awful as well
