Publisher's Summary

She swore off love forever...but he just might change her mind.

The sixth sweet, thrilling book in the New York Times, USA Today, and Wall Street Journal best-selling Weekday Brides series from Catherine Bybee.

Meg Rosenthal: Matchmaker by day, realist by night, Meg is not about to get swept away by a charming, darkly handsome businessman in a designer suit. She's come to a beautiful, secluded resort to evaluate the private island's potential for her agency, not to ogle its owner. But there's something about the magnetic man that's hard to resist, even for a woman who refuses to fall in love.

Valentino Masini: A successful and drop-dead sexy businessman, Valentino is used to having the finer things in life. Yet he's never wanted someone the way he wants Meg, who's stirring up a hurricane of trouble in his heart. But just as he decides to convince her to stay, someone else decides it might be time to get Meg off the island...permanently.

    "A Gritty, roamnce -- A Great Plt"

Book 6 in the series is set in the Florida Keys. It is a continuation of from previous books. Meg meets Valentino, the owner and proprietor of an ultra secret, ultra-primate resort. When the ultra-private nature of the resort is threatened and that of Michael personal life (Movie Star) is jeopardized, the good guys embark on a good old who-did-it. Except, this who-did-it has a flavor of a thriller that gives the overall novel more depth and texture -- well done. This is a romance novel, heavy on the romance (very light on the sex scenes). Although parts are predictable, the narrative moves along and the plot points are riveting. Tanya Eby continues to turn in great performances.

In this book we meet Valentino's sister Gabby. My money is on book seven being about her. I hope so, because we learn a great deal about her in this novel and it will be interesting to see how she evolves. Bybee has done a great job keeping the series fresh and interesting. I give it a big thumbs up and look forward to book seven. Give it a read.

    "Great series! Fantastic narrator!"

Great contemporary romance series! Ever since I stumbled upon "Not Quite Dating" I have devoured every single book by Catherine Bybee and haven't been disappointed yet. When I started the series, I was wondering whether the arranging-fake-marriages set up would be too silly and predictable, but Catherine Bybee has such a talent creating interesting story lines and wonderful characters, you just get pulled in.
I like how the previous characters always reappear and you end up with that one big happy family feeling. It's just really entertaining escapism on a dull day. Good mixture of mystery/suspense and love story.
Tanya Eby does such a great job narrating all the audio versions. I am in awe of her ability to master the male voices. Every time I start listening to one of these, I can't stop until I've finished it.

Not my favorite in the series, but a respectable addition. I love how she infuses drama and a good story while satisfying our need for romance.

    "A fabulous story."

Wow, what an exciting, intriguing, passionate and oh so romantic story. I love Catherine Bybee's stories and Seduced by Sunday is now one of my favorites. Feisty, fun, playful banter between Meg and Val is highly entertaining. Throw in a beautiful island, soulful music, and sizzling kisses and melt my heart. I got a bit teary eyed too. A fun story with so many beautiful moments. I loved it.

    Any additional comments?

Wow! Love, love, love Valentino. He is so suave and sweet and sexy. Meg in so strong and sassy, gotta’ love her too. And I love the suspense that went on. And I sure couldn’t figure out what was happening with Gabi and Alonzo, even though I didn’t like him at all, and if it had anything to do with who was taking the pictures.

It was so much fun seeing all the characters from all the other books. But I did feel really bad for Gabi. Fortunately, I absolutely loved what happened to Alonzo. And I’m soooo glad Michael got his HEA. I’ve been crazy about him from the very first book he was in. All the characters have been so memorable from book to book, and now I’m going to read the last book in the series, Treasured by Thursday, Gabi’s story. I’m happy to start the book but I’m saddened to know it’ll be the last of the Weekday Brides.

Ms. Bybee doesn’t really write sexual tension but she writes such good stories you don’t really miss it. She DOES write some good sex scenes, though.

Because it makes me crazy that every single romance has one thing in common, from now on, I’m going to mention the heroine biting her lip. Worrying her lip. Chewing at her lip or nibbling at her lip, or doing whatever to her lip. Someone bite their lip 2 times. YAY!

I got this book through KU but I would have gladly paid for it.

As to the narrator: Tanya Eby is just a super narrator. I never hesitate to listen to her. She does great voices and has wonderful emotions, too.

    "Terrible Narration!!"
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

A different narrator! Story is awesome!

How did the narrator detract from the book?

The narrator uses a whinny, lispy voice for ALL the characters. This book has some really strong characters but the narrator makes them all sound weak. I have listened to several books by this narrator and am very disappointed with all of them. I will not listen to any more books with this narrator.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

I read this booked and loved it! I drive a lot so thought it would be fun to listen to it too. The narrator totally ruined the book. I couldn't even last one chapter listening to it. Very disappointing.

    Any additional comments?

Read the book! Don't bother with the audio version.

    Story
    "Last book by this author"

I own 10 Audible books by this author; the first 6 of this Weekday Brides series and 4 of the Not Quite series. I have enjoyed this series up until now. The characters were interesting and while the plots were sometimes farfetched, they could happen if you suspend your disbelief and just enjoy the book. However, I like my fiction with some sense of realism and this book has so many flaws in logic that I'm wondering if the author's publisher has done away with employing book editors. There are too many fatal flaws to enumerate and I'd have to retell the whole story to explain why so many things don't make any sense, but if you like your fiction to make sense you won't enjoy this book.

I read many authors who use swearing (Lori Foster, Lauren Dane, Maya Banks, etc). and I'm not sensitive to swearing. However, it should make sense, such as someone has just double crossed you and you're angry, so you swear in that moment to vent. This book's main character swears in completely odd and inappropriate moments. When she's talking to person B and they are NOT arguing or unhappy with one another she suddenly says the full 8 letter word we abbreviate as B.S. when just saying "whatever" would be the appropriate response. I was sick of the swearing after about 4 chapters, and eventually in the middle of the book she admits that she's a potty mouth. Um, yeah, we know that already. Is there an antonym for foreshadowing?

There is also a moment when she doesn't technically swear, but is just disgustingly crass. She's in Rome and she knows that her college roommate would love to come to Rome, so she says to the person she's with "Judy would give her left tit to wander Rome." That kind of crass if every bit as offensive to me as swearing; possibly MORE offensive. I guess I know too many women who've had breasts removed to avoid dying from breast cancer to think that phrase is ever an acceptable thing to say as a casual statement that is supposed to be the same as "Judy would love to be here." Shame on you, Ms. Bybee!!! Clearly I have finally figured out that I am NOT the demographic this author is writing for.

This character was not even introduced until book 5 of the series and I would not have needed to hear her story, especially since it wasn't at all enjoyable and she wasn't a potty mouth in book 5. The only good news about this book is that it advances the story of Michael and his life in a couple isolated spots, so you get a little bit about him.

This books reads like it was written under extreme deadline pressures. I have favorite authors who occasionally explore avenues that I don't care for - Linda Howards' book Prey comes to mind (bear maulings, yuk). However, this book is very much in the same vein as Bybee's other books; it's just written very badly (and tastelessly) and not fixed by professional editing. I won't trust this author again. Therefore, this was my last Catherine Bybee purchase.

I don't think this book would read well as a standalone, since the women's business is pivotal to the plot and not really explained much at all as established in prior books.
