In a secluded corner of Hope Beach, one woman must decipher a stranger's memories...before they cost her everything. Elin Summerall was one of the lucky ones. Not only did she get a heart transplant, but the donor was a perfect fit. A miraculously perfect fit. But when Elin begins having violent flashbacks - and vivid dreams of being strangled - she realizes that she has been the recipient of more than just a new heart. Elin is remembering her donor's murder. Her strange affliction has attracted some unwanted attention: from the press, from the authorities - and from the killer himself.
Now, living alone with her young daughter and aging mother, Elin is being stalked - by a man she's only met in her nightmares. The police are dubious of her story, but one off-duty FBI agent is eager to help her: Agent Marc Everton, the father of Elin's daughter. Of course, he doesn't know about that. Yet. Now, in a remote cottage on Hope Island, Elin and Marc must probe the secrets buried in her borrowed heart. And there's no time to waste. One man is desperate to silence her - before she remembers too much.

"Always a winner with Colleen Coble!"
I have loved all of Colleen Coble's books, and this is no exception. She develops her characters and stories very well. This story about a heart transplant recipient is different than anything I have read by her. My only criticism is I wish she had done more explanation of cell memory, But, that does not take away from the book. I highly recommend it!
Intrigue, good outcome, unpredictable, good character development, good morals and yet true to life. What a refreshing change to read this author after reading so many books that I have had to return due to foul language or steamy sex scenes.
"Enjoyed a lot"
I really enjoyed the story and have nothing bad to say about it but although I really enjoy/love listening to Devon O'Day's voice in most books , I didn't think it was particularly suited to this one. Even when pursued by someone trying to kill her she never seemed to sound upset or frightened. Her voice almost always seemed to have a lilting laugh hidden in it like she was delighted about something. In other words it never changes tone. Other than that I loved the book.
Loved it. from beginning to the end, it was riveting. I enjoyed listening to this book.
"Comical detective errors - I found myself laughing"
I hope real detectives do not make such ridiculous mistakes!
It did take any fear out of the story for me.
was a good book. was hard to get into but i was glad I finished.
The plot is intriguing and moves with no repetition. Thoroughly enjoyable introducing new trains of thought
The story was beautiful, and showed that even if you make big mistakes in your life, God will still love You and still has a plan He designed for you before the foundations of the earth, and since He is All Knowing, He knew the mistakes we would make and worked that into His Plan for our good and His Glory. Thank You Jesus!
The narrator was fantastic, and I hope she is born again as well!
Suspenseful Romance with realistic emotions! Not overly sappy and not terribly predictable either. There was just enough suggestive scenes to make it real but I appreciate the Christian values infused. I'm looking forward to the next book already!
"Great book! Great series!"
Fav one of the three books in this series. Very interesting and intriguing. Sad to see the series end.
